• Performs data migration tasks from direct attached storage and within SAN
environments.
• Responsible for all designs modifications and changes to the SAN
infrastructure and ensure proper change control is followed for
implementation and documentation of all configuration changes.
• Performs daily enterprise storage area networks activities including
management, zoning, and provisioning, troubleshooting, debugging and
capacity monitoring.
• Provide proactive monitoring and analysis and provide status reporting on
availability, performance, and capacity utilization. Develop plans &
recommendations to proactively address performance and capacity issues.
• Uses storage management tools to discover, monitor, provision and report
on the storage infrastructure. Participates in root cause analysis for
significant problems and suggests clear recommendations for improvements.
• Builds partnerships with project teams and works closely with internal
and external customers and vendors to provide detailed analysis and
trending of storage usage, ensuring that support expectations are
maintained/exceeded including planning of new or upgraded SAN and storage
equipment.
• Identify opportunities for automation and streamlining of system
administration tasks.
• Evaluates new technologies and architecting solutions.
• Investigate new technologies, tools and methodologies to improve system
stability and reliability, and advance systems administration procedures
across all teams.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to defining and improving
procedures in the areas of Disaster Recovery, Enterprise Backups, Systems
Management, Monitoring and Systems Administration/Security, Build Standards
and Server Build Automation.
• Participation in an on call rotation, which requires nights and weekend
work as necessary.
• Participates with the client in the strategic design process to translate
business requirements into technical designs that meet the operational
requirements.
• Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to
meet outlined objectives. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting
objectives and schedules. May provide guidance to others to achieve goals
