Job Title:*Network Engineer*
Location:Atlanta, GA
Duration:8 month contract
SUMMARY:
This position supports the management team by providing leadership,
technical consulting, and expertise in the design, modification, and
implementation of LAN and WAN infrastructures. This position requires an
individual whom provides leadership, assists with creating and implementing
processes, and architect / engineer complex design solutions and will be
responsible for driving multiple projects to completion.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
1. Bachelor degree preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor degree in Computer
Science or Information Technology, we will consider the equivalent in
practical experience
2. Expert knowledge of network connectivity and topologies used in a large
scale environment
3. Advanced understanding of wireless technology (Cisco, Symbol).
4. Extensive knowledge in LAN design and architecture.
5. Advanced PC Windows Skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Visio, and
MS Project).
6. In depth knowledge and proven experience with network management,
diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
7. In depth knowledge and proven experience with network capacity planning.
8. Advanced technical, analytical, problem solving, multitasking, project
management and time management skills with consistent attention to detail.
9. Strong leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the
ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
10. Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and consensus building skills.
11. Advanced presentation (written and verbal) communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to all
levels of business.
12. Ability to effectively share technical information and train and mentor
less experienced or knowledgeable team members.
13. Advanced Cisco switching and routing technology:
A. Layer two networking (Expert)
1. VTP
2. Spanning tree protocol
3. VLAN configuration
B. TCP/IP and layer three networking (Expert)
C. Nexus 2000, 5000, and 5000 switch installation and configuration
D. Cisco Access-Control-Server 3.x
Additional skills considered a plus:
- Load Balancer - Cisco, F5, Riverbed
- RF Technology - Symbol, Cisco
- Other Technology - Cisco Nexus Product Line
- Other Technology - SAN / NAS storage
