*Overall Purpose: *
Responsible for hardware/software/firmware certification, new technology
introduction, and tier 4 support for large-scale, multi-vendor,
multi-service, MPLS/IP and Ethernet carrier grade network platforms and
technologies.

*Roles & Responsibilities: *
1) Certify and plan the introduction of new MPLS/IP and Ethernet carrier
grade network platforms and technologies to evolve AT&T¿s worldwide network
infrastructure. Services supported include VPNs, internet service, cloud
networking, Ethernet/VPLS, mobility, U-Verse, security services, and core
network backbone capabilities.
2) Develop, write, review, and execute rigorous, detailed test plans, to
certify new network equipment and new services/features for the network,
and documents test results.
3) While focusing on testing new AT&T services and features, testing also
covers performance and scale, and inter-op testing with other vendor
equipment and AT&T systems and tools. May also perform regression testing
and develop test automation tools.
4) Design the most complex of test environments, and to configure network
equipment in a test lab environment to certify the design; documents the
configurations; and trains operations personnel on the configurations.
5) Partner with vendors to ensure their product quality meets AT&T¿s
criteria and to correct product defects.
6) Leads troubleshooting and identification of the root cause of the most
complex problems, ranging from design issues to vendor technology issues.
7) Partners with design engineers to modify designs and detailed router
configurations when needed, and with vendors to fix their defects.
8) Plans and leads First Field Application (FFA) activities to deploy
equipment and network services and features.
