*Job Title : Unix Admin Location : Raleigh, NC (Need Local/Nearby)Duration
: 12+Months Contract  MUST BE ABLE TO INTERVIEW ON SITE (NO SKYPE)This role
requires SME skills in the following areas: *
Diagnose production problems on Unix host leveraging standard debugging
tools for hardware, CPU capacity, memory, network, and I/O.
Manage Performance and Capacity, collect metrics for analysis and leverage
for performance, stability and overall environment enhancement.
Ability to coordinate changes across Storage, Network, Database and
application specific changes
Good communication skills
Ability to run projects and provide management updates
Ability to follow up with vendors for root cause analysis
Ensure Unix systems are maintained to the established baselines to
eliminate single points of failure as well as to comply with internal and
external regulatory controls.
Support of  End of Life, quarterly OS patching, and DR test initiatives

*Qualifications:*
Knowledge of  core Unix ecosystems such as AD/Centrify, GLDAP, NIS, DNS and
NFS, 10+ years
Knowledge of Linux (Red Hat 5 & 6 and SLES 10), 10+ years.
Knowledge of Solaris 10 is highly desirable although greater focus on Linux
as a growth area.
Performance analysis and tuning, 10+ years.
SME knowledge of storage multipathing (PowerPath, VxDMP, RedHat DM)
SME Knowledge of disk management tools such as DiskSuite, LVM, VxVM, 10+
years
SME knowledge of network resiliency tools such as (IPMP, Nic teaming).
Knowledge of clustering tools such as Veritas Cluster server, Red Hat
Clustering, 10+ years.
Knowledge of SAN technology and its impact on the server environment, 10+
years.
Troubleshooting Skills (CPU, I/O, network, and Memory), 10+ years.
TCPIP stack10+ years.
Shell/Perl Scripting, 7+ years.
Distributed Systems Management, 10+ years.
Knowledge and Support of large DB environments such as Oracle Rac, Sybase,
Sybase IQ, 10+ years
Knowledge of Puppet, Spacewalk or RedHat Satellite  is a requirement for
this role.

ContractRate : 44/hr on C2C Required Skills:*
Provide UNIX related tasks regarding the client application
Provide consultative support regarding Caché databases
Contribute UNIX guidance, best practices and technical content for client
projects including OS process and procedures that should be executed by
client’s service partner, IBM Global Services.
Assist with application development team with application upgrades and
deployments
Provide general best practices and QA reviews of UNIX clustering and high
availability services including AIX HACMP services.
Update relevant OS team content to client SharePoint sites that serve as a
repository for all deliverables.
Contribute to client UNIX best practices, lessons learned or root cause
analysis studies as requested by the client Sponsor.
Provide input to weekly status reports to team members as directed by
client.
