Re: [OpenAFS] Please help! Error in server synchronisation

2005-03-17 Thread rogbazan
i think the problem could be the time synchronization between your
servers. Set the same time on all of your servers and try again.
I say that, because when you run udebug, none of the hosts says "i´m a
sync site". I normal conditions, one (and only one) must be the sync
site. I´d recommend you that your first dbserver be the sync site.

| Are you absolutely sure about it, that this could be the cause of the quorum
error? Because I'm using gentoo and it works with automatic package installer
called emerge. And when you type emerge net-fs/openafs it automatically
downloads the needed packages and installs them.
If you are really using 1.2.10, you are using a old version, even gentoo should
have 1.2.13 packages (or the 1.3.7x).
Go and have a look at your gentoo-repository and watch out for a newer AFS
version than 1.2.10.
At least, 1.2.13 is called stable OpenAFS version, so there should be no risc to
use. The 1.2.13 here on RedHat has no errors til yet of that kind.

1.2.10 (at least unpatched) did have exactly the no quorum problem. He's
very sure. I have no idea if gentoo's stuff is patched. I'd hope it was.
