I've just been busy, but I'll send out an announcement about the release today.

Re: [OpenBabel-Devel] 3.0 release?

2019-10-15 Thread Noel O'Boyle
Ok - I've managed to get the docs and API docs up on openbabel.github.io at:
https://openbabel.github.io/docs/3.0/index.html
and
https://openbabel.github.io/api/3.0/index.shtml

Server-side includes don't work on GitHub and so I removed the header and
footer in the doxygen as described above. This at least gives us the
defaults. I think that there might be some other way to customise it if we
want.

Last thing to do is update the links from the Mediawiki install page to
point to the new docs. But it's getting late

Re: [OpenBabel-Devel] 3.0 release?

2019-10-10 Thread Noel O'Boyle
As separately emailed, I've had trouble getting the GitHub pages suite to
build and deploy, but I've uploaded the docs there and you can copy to
openbabel.org.

Since I can't currently depoly to GH pages, could you rebuild the API docs
and deploy to your site? Personally, I would make the following changes:

-HTML_HEADER= doc/api-header.html
+HTML_HEADER= # doc/api-header.html

-HTML_FOOTER= doc/api-footer.html
+HTML_FOOTER= # doc/api-footer.html

on the basis that the closer we are to vanilla doxygen the less
maintenance we have to do. I haven't checked these changes in.

Re: [OpenBabel-Devel] 3.0 release?

2019-10-08 Thread Noel O'Boyle
I've attached the binaries to the draft release, and I think the Python
binaries are ready to go.

I was thinking about uploading the docs to the github pages site. You could
redirect from openbabel.org/docs when it's ready. I could do the same for
the API docs.

Sure. Let's target Oct. 14th for the release announcement and I'll tag on
Monday, Oct. 7th.

I have a pull request with final tasks:

Re: [OpenBabel-Devel] 3.0 release?

2019-10-05 Thread Noel O'Boyle
Let's do it.

Can you leave a week between the tagging and the announcement? It's not
just the Windows binaries but going around updating the download links,
release notes, etc. Hopefully our conda wizards will also have time to
build things in this timeframe too.

I note in passing that I'm in the process of updating the file format docs,
but this can wait now for 3.0.1.
