1) city - zip code + geoinformation of the city

is there a module for other country how to provide this data?

2) holidays

is someone working on something simular? for hr module

I've just created a project and team on Launchpad. I didn't intend to 
short-circuit you but I thought it would be a step forward and that 
didn't need to wait.
I'm still in the process of making the series/branches/etc but it should 
be done soon.

I've invited the the community reviewers team to join this new team, I'd 
be glad if the admins accept.


I'm going to push the branches of openerp-nomenclature to the new 
project - I'm porting them to v7.0 this week if all goes according to 
the plan.

Then all merge proposals will be most welcome.

If any of the above is a problem to anyone, please let me know and I'll 
do my best to improve it !

 In my experience I've seen that adapting the files is a know-how in
 itself: tracing the right sources, getting reliable files, hacking macros
 and scripts to re-format he files, adding translations, making them
 upgradeable...
 On the other hand you don't need to know a lot about the region
 beforehand, because those files are usually well described by the official
 bodies.

 If ever the main branch gets too large, we can always split them into
 region-specific branches inside the same project.

Hi Lionel,
I mismatched purpose of the project, sorry.
However, we should be agree about how store data in software.
And, in order to store data for all, we have to know how every data is 
coded by regional and local people.


So, what localized data we wish manage in this project?
I would like:
1. Local address format
2. Administrative division of countries (may be NUTS)
3. Postal code zone (aka ZIP)
4. Domestic bank, may be useful to check IBAN
5. VAT structure: all EU countries have similar VAT tax
6. Is vatnumer checked by OpenERP for all countries?
7. Some countries, like Italy and Spain, have also the fiscalcode; in 
Italy a business may have 2 vatnumber


In my mind, a common country table defines data structure that every 
local team manages indipendently.


What do think about?

Not sure 'solve' is the word I would use but here's how I do it:
Always run with -P (partial import) which won't load a file it has
already loaded.
Make sure all my unsafe CSV files are commented out in __openerp__.py
before every update (in case the -P gets forgotten or status.pickle gets
lost).
If I want to update a whole CSV file I hack it out of the status.pickle
file (delete the existing records first).
If I want to add some new lines from a CSV file I copy them into a
separate file and import that through the user interface.

I prefer XML than CSV for example for the no update feature that prevent to
reload data on update=all

Very very little logic -> No stange field added in web page, natural 
search, natural use

named: openerp-eu-data with subproject openerp-nomenclature: this project
aims to contains all the data like bank address lists by nation, NACE

Sorry, my mail was sent unfinished so here's a little more context to it.
Long story short, this project was started when I proposed to include an 
official nomenclature of partner categories from the EU into OpenERP. It 
was well received on the principle, but it was refused nonetheless 
because it would have made the core addons too big.


By adopting this as a community project, we would have a place where we 
could all add all kinds of official lists : partners or product 
categories, references of food additives, postal codes for many countries...
We can't easily add those to other projects or we would make them very 
bulky and unpractical.
