Hi Matt! On Dienstag, 15. Mai 2007, Matt Wall wrote: [.. pst flashes with errors, bootloader still works ...] http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/initialphone.jpg There is an alternative to PST: linux 2.6 + mtdutils. 1. Build angstrom, including mtd-utils http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/ http://www.openembedded.org/ 2. Copy the image to the microSD Card 3. Get Phone into bootloader mode, load kernel with boot_usb 4. Connect to the phone trough usb + ssh 5. load the various mtd-kernel-modules 6. decide witch /dev/mtd* you want to flash, use flash_unlock and flashcp (or dd) to flash But before you try that all, just try if the phone could boot_usb a kernel at all. Various zImages are at http://people.openezx.org/ boot_usb is located at http://svn.openezx.org/trunk/src/host/boot_usb/ Yours, Simon N.

story behind the problem. I took a picture with the camera. douring the process it froze the camera. I could not power it down with the power button at all. I removed the batt, let it sit for a minute or two, then i put it back in. it would not power back up. I was able to get it to the boot loader menu to attempt a reflash and got those errors every time i tried to flash. Also it will be interesting if you will upload bootloader CG a020 with boot_usb or with ezxflash and look to lsusb -v messages after this. as for that i've not jumped in deep enough to really give you a good answer to your question. however here are some error logs in case anyone cares and thanks for all the help guys. even if this does end up a paperweight you guys have been very helpful - 20:09:07, December 17, 2005 Line: 139 ERROR: F:\Documents and Settings\matt\Desktop\OD\UNUSED1\780 monster\r52\R52_G_0D.74.A2R_0D.C0.B1P_SE6822AD3B1_L001_S011_P004_SE6822AD3B1025_full.hmg was not found. hopefully this will help out somewhat with the questions. myself and foxor (a moderator on motorolafans.com) both tried to flash this particular phone. with pst it flashes with errors, some actual images might be worth a thousand words so here are some url's to images sorry for quality issues http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/initialphone.jpg http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/phoneflashing.jpg http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/pst1.jpg http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/pst2.jpg http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/pst3.jpg http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/pst4.jpg http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/pst5.jpg anyway i hope this helps out. if anyone wants me to try something or i've missed something let me know and i'll attempt it. thanks for the help guys

2007/5/15, Matt Wall [EMAIL PROTECTED]: http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/initialphone.jpgThis one says that your phone is not bricked. http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/phoneflashing.jpg I never flashed BP on my phone but i think that this one says that you have communication problems AP - BP. http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/pst1.jpg http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/pst2.jpg http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/pst3.jpg http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/pst4.jpg http://www.alternativemicrosystems.com/a780/pst5.jpg Cant comment these, i never used PST. anyway i hope this helps out. if anyone wants me to try something or i've missed something let me know and i'll attempt it. I would guess that you have something phisicaly wrong with BP or with BP-AP usb lines. Dion has much more knowledge on this subject than me. Maybe he can tell you whats happening. What caused this? Was a software update? Or no apparent reason? -- EOF Daniel Ribeiro

Looks like really it's AP-BP communications problem. I think that this is some hardware problem. On each startup in flash mode, AP forces BP to start in flash mode too. After this AP asks BP about it's firmware status. On e680, if BP's bootloader is incorrect (or it's signature is incorrect), AP will detect it and turn on joystick light. But there will be no such messages about enum failing. Also it will be interesting if you will upload bootloader CG a020 with boot_usb or with ezxflash and look to lsusb -v messages after this. So maybe you should ask yourself: What happens with this phone? How you damage it? -- WBR, Dmitry signature.asc Description: Digital signature
