Re: [openib-general] Is there a way to recover Mellanox HCA card from wrong Firmware

2006-10-23 Thread Bala
thanks Michael,

Most cards have a single jumper to disable the
 flash.

using that jumper, I was able to flash the
card with correct firmware.

thanks again,
-bala-

If you set it, the card will boot in flash recovery
 mode
which will make it possible for you to re-flash with
 correct firmware.

[openib-general] Is there a way to recover Mellanox HCA card from wrong Firmware

2006-10-21 Thread Bala
Hi All,
while updating the firmware in a set of
nodes, accidentlly updated one of the Mellanox
PCI-X card with
fw-25218-5_1_400-MHEL-CF128-T-MEMFREE.bin.zip
(PCI-Express memfree FW from Mellanox site) using
tvflash
utility.

After rebooting the machine, now the OS is
not even detecting the HCA card.

  1. Is there anyway to flash with correct firmware??

  2. or Is there anyway to reset the EPROM??

It will be very helpful, if you could offer some way
out from this issue??

thanks,
-bala-

Re: [openib-general] unable to run dapltest

2006-03-04 Thread Bala
Hi,

  pdclient:/tmp/dapl/test/dapltest/udapl/Target# cat /etc/dat.conf
  #
  # DAT 1.1 and 1.2 configuration file
  #
  # Each entry should have the following fields:
  #
  # ia_name api_version threadsafety default lib_path \
  # provider_version ia_params platform_params
  #
  # Example for openib using the first Mellanox adapter, port 1 and port 2

  #IB1 u1.2 nonthreadsafe default

  mthca0 u1.2 nonthreadsafe default /usr/lib/libdapl.so \
  ri.1.2 mthca0 1 pd_params

The configuration file syntax does not support \ characters to
indicate the continuation of a line. You should put all of the values
 on one line.

dapltest works now.

Thanks,
Bala
