I had that problem with something else dtrace-y recently. The installed mpi.d
is incompatible somehow, and the pkg that delivers it should be uninstalled.
IIRC it was clustertools from the now-dead pkg.opensolaris.org repo.

Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] Pidgin Plugin pack

2011-09-26 Thread Hillel Lubman
Thanks. Do you plan to put newer Pidgin back into OI?

Just wanted to notify - I successfully built an installed Pidgin plugin pack
on oi_151:
https://www.guifications.org/projects/purple-plugin-pack

What I really was missing is XMPP priority setting, which is useful when you
are logged in from multiple clients. One of he plugins here implements it.

In libfarsight it'd be good if at least XMPP/Jingle worked.

Regards,

Hillel.

I have ported libnice and I have almost finished patching linfarsight,
but, for example, the video thing with MSN is not working :-(
Also, I have compiled pidgin 2.10.0 on oi_148. If you want to use
it, please e-mail me off list.

[OpenIndiana-discuss] Pidgin Plugin pack

Did anyone try to build Pidgin plugin pack for OpenIndiana? And also is
Pidgin going to be updated to the newer version, and is anyone working on
porting libfarsight as well to enable video conferencing?

I should also mention that the error message above is preceded by an
error advising that the time of day chip cannot be detected (I don't
have the precise message to hand).

Hi All,

After swapping the mobo with the same new model, I am still seeing
this behaviour accompanied by similar errors to:

WARNING: Time of day chip unresponsive
WARNING: Time of Day clock error: reason [Jumped by 0x2e4beaed]. --
Stopped tracking Time Of Day clock.

Highly unlikely that I'd see this with two brand new mobos, so I have
entered the following to /etc/system:

set tod_broken=1
set dosynctodr=0

And will see what happens. Would it be worth opening a bug report for
this?

Cheers,
Dave

Do you have C1E enabled in your BIOS? It should be under power
management or something similar, I have found this causes odd issues
with clocks and various other things when the system is idle.

Hi Jarl,

Thanks for the reply - it's present in BIOS but disabled. The only thing
I can really conclude is that this is a bad batch of boards, although
everything else is operating with 100 percent stability, just not the
clock.

Cheers,

[OpenIndiana-discuss] can't boot to 151

2011-09-26 Thread Apostolos Syropoulos
Hello,

I have just upgraded from oi_148 to 151 but I cannot boot
to the new BE since bootadm fails to execute properly.
In particular, I get the following error message:

Assertion failed: p->key == key, file ../port/locale/collate.c
line 199, function substsearch
/boot/solaris/bin/extract_boot_filelist: line 84: 100:
Abort (coredump)
bootadm: archive filelist is empty

I guess this has something to do with locales, but I am not sure
about it. Any comments/suggestions?

A second bug is that one cannot rename BEs. No matter what
the command fails.

Regards,

a.s.
