My main guess at the moment would be that there are some driver problems; in particular - lack of USB3 support in illumos kernel. Possibly you used a USB port connected to the USB3 hub (if any), and your other ports might be on an older USB2 hub? In short, try plugging your USB flash into other ports, maybe you'd have better luck with those :) Do you know if the boot attempt returns any errors or just hangs? If so - at what stage? Possibly, you could post a screenshot (i.e. with a phone-camera) of the problem, if there is anything on screen? Hope this helps, //Jim Klimov ___ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list OpenIndiana-discuss@openindiana.org http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss ___ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list OpenIndiana-discuss@openindiana.org http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss ___ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list OpenIndiana-discuss@openindiana.org http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss

[OpenIndiana-discuss] new member and questions
Good evening, my name is Pavel Vlček and I am from Czech Republic. I am new to OpenIndiana and I like it. But I have some questions. I am blind user, so I am using orca screen reader. I will work with terminal more with gui, for example I want to check for updates, upgrades and install packages with some command. I know apt-get install package name, yum install package name etc. Is there some command, which can I to use? And I need to download my Language. When I installed OpenIndiana, I wwas not connected to the internet and now, I have system in Czech / English. How can I do this? Thanks, Vlcek Pavel ___ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list OpenIndiana-discuss@openindiana.org http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss
