Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] Firefox 13 & Java
Because 13 was the latest version when I did the update from the one in 151a. I didn't discover that it disabled Java until now. There's only one website I need Java for that I know of. I'm not aware of any reason I want 16.0.1 instead of 13. I *certainly* didn't want 16.0. --- On Tue, 10/16/12, Dmitry Kozhinov wrote: > From: Dmitry Kozhinov > Subject: Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] Firefox 13 & Java > To: openindiana-discuss@openindiana.org > Date: Tuesday, October 16, 2012, 10:32 PM > Why Firefox 13? > > Firefox 16.0.1 is available at > http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/16.0.1/contrib/ > > ___ > OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list > OpenIndiana-discuss@openindiana.org > http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss > ___ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list OpenIndiana-discuss@openindiana.org http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss

[OpenIndiana-discuss] Firefox 13 & Java
I updated to Firefox 13 some time ago. I just discovered that it "disabled Java because it was out of date". I've installed jre1.7.0_07 per the Oracle instructions (which are hopelessly out of date and stop at Firefox 4) and restarted Firefox. Firefox Tools->Add-ons->Plugins says "You don't have any add-ons of this type installed." There's a working symlink in /usr/lib/firefox/plugins to libnpjp2.so Any suggestions? google didn't produce anything relevant and "learn more" from Firefox just wants to pimp things I don't want. The OI Java install seems to be a bowl of symlink spaghetti. Is there something in the user directory that affects this? I tried creating a new .mozilla tree, but ti didn't help.
