Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] usb3 with openindiana

2023-05-06 Thread Till Wegmüller

Hi

That is unfortunately a piece of Hardware we never test as we have USB3
ports usually in all setups I am aware. So there wont be a report.

It should generally just work as USB is pretty standardised so is PCIE.
So if you can get one inside your Budget that you can get even on risk I
would try that.

During last August I tried to send a message and it was not posted tothe list.
Then I tried to send a test message and it was not posted again. The second one
was posted but not immediately. So  I concluded that forsome reason I am
blocked. Now, I wanted to explain to people why I was
posting the message about the XHCI driver to the OI list while it
clearlybelonged to some other list. That's all. I have also to add that I
wasreceiving mails from the list for some time but I haven;t received
anythingfor sometime. Maybe I have deleted my subscription and I do not
remember this.
But it would be nice to send my initial message about the UBS3 driver tothe
person who works on it, just in case this can be proved useful to him.

Hi,

I am using PC with motherboard:
Manufacturer: ASRock
Product Name: B150M Pro4S

It has built in (on-board) USB3 + USB2 controller. Right now it runs
under "legacy" emulation (and I had to add PCIe USB2 card in order to
use OI Hipster).

Regarding devices, I have not so big choice - will use existing USB2
devices and when have USB3 ones.

With best regards.
