does appear in my Moodle module list. However, when I tried to create a

I read the responses on the Moodle.org forum about a similar problem
but I can't solve it (Sebastian suggested using the IP address instead

Can someone tell me what I can do to solve the problem? Thanks for any

Better Performance in Linux

2010-03-31 Thread David Grote
I was wondering what I could modify to get better performance in
Linux.

I am running my server on a Fedora Core 11 machine and for the most
part it appears to be working well.

There does appear to be some lag however when doing three or more web-

Any ideas to improve performance?

No, it's in the LZX files.

Can you give a startpoint where something of the skin is coded?

Well, it's hard to give a starting point, as the skin is hard-coded
into the modules directly.

You could start with 'WebContent/openmeetings/main.lzx' which defines
the basic view (header and main content area). You also find the
definition of the 'silverstyle' there which is used for some native
openlaszlo widgets. From this point on you have to check the modules
directly. The login screen for example is found in
'WebContent/openmeetings/base/auth/checkLoginData.lzx'. Most of the
modules are stored in 'WebContent/openmeetings/modules/...'. The base
widgets for many modules can be found in
'WebContent/openmeetings/base/...'. You basically have to dig through
the source code to find the module you want to reskin. You can disable
modules completely in the database (Tables navimain and naviglobal).

Re: How create a Skin ?

2010-03-31 Thread David . JGurú Developer
Hi, good afternoon from Andalusia, Spain.

I've been already a year working with openmeetings and what I know about
skins of the platform is this: find the file config.xml in the root
directory of the source code, and there can be changes in the appearance of
the platform, mainly in text, title, fav-icon, and color vision.

I think this can be helpful for you. Greetings from davidjguru.

Re: BuildSource for make dev on OM, problems...

2010-03-31 Thread Jyothivas Nair
bascially you are just confusing yourself
to run basic version of OM from the sources you only require to
download the sources from SVN into your eclipse IDE
an servlet container eg: apache tomcat
database eg: MySQL
which is nicely documented here
http://code.google.com/p/openmeetings/wiki/BuildSourceNew?tm=4

you do not have to install red5 server separately as OM has red5
inbuilt to its source code
OpenLaszlo server will only be required if you are planning to code
openlaszlo code, *.lzx files,
though OM does build these files even if you were to change your
laszlo files without having a OpenLaszlo server.
