Re: Errores version r3087

2010-05-21 Thread doyle
Hi Sebastian,

I have uploaded a sample to show the Bug. Please refer the following
images:
http://openmeetings-user.googlegroups.com/web/sample_pptx_orig.PNG?gsc=-Yu7TAsAAACgAILQE6BxoX8AR-LIjhZM
http://openmeetings-user.googlegroups.com/web/sample_pptx_converted_buggy.PNG?gsc=-Yu7TAsAAACgAILQE6BxoX8AR-LIjhZM

and:
http://openmeetings-user.googlegroups.com/web/sample_pptx_direct_in_openoffice.png?gsc=W6RqTAsAAAD8JTxLfuJstz79iifxevL2

As you can see, the stripes are only when using uploading in
openmeetings. the load function in openoffice results no stripes.

And of course you are right to convert the pptx to pdf in powerpoint,
and import the pdf to solve the problem, but anyway not everybody ist
able to convert the pptx2pdf by using powerpoint. The only converter I
found to convert this correct seems to be the originial MS plugin for
Powerpoint. All other converters (File based or acting as virtual
printer) still caused any kind differencies to the originial File.

best regards,
Markus

P.S. Where can I find a tut using eclipse ? Because everytime when I
use the Source, and replace with latest form repository still causes
Errors. That means it seems to create Errors because of not finding
some Java includes. But creating a new project the same time and
downloading the whole project still works fine. Any idea ? Thx in
advance

 Hi Doyle,

we did not face problems with pptx and OpenOffice yet.
The conversion seems to work pretty well.

Although you are right that the quality of particular drawings in pptx when
converted by using open-office is not that good. But crashes should not
 happen at all.

What can you do to workaround = convert the pptx to PDF in Microsoft and
 import the PDF file.

  Hi Sebastian,

Using PPTX lets crash the format of the file. The same problem still
causes even when you load the pptx direct into Openoffice. I could
make some screenshots of this to show.

Is it possible to find out how a Converter works ? Maybe it would be
easier and useful to code an own, which works... !?!?! I already read
the discussion about importing and converting the 2007´er files, but
the Conversion still has problems with the older ppt etc.

My search about the how to convert still gave me only the results to
the exisiting converters, which need openoffice to convert. Because
some of the conference systems (dimdim, hotconference ...) do the
conversion fine, and i think they don´t use openoffice in background
  for converting this.

  thanks,

installation hang

2010-05-21 Thread bing
Hi,

I recently installed the latest (openmeetings_1_1_r3087) version of
OpenMeetings on my Ubuntu laptop with little issue, but when I'm
having issues when I try to install it on a remote server.

I followed the instructions closely and documented the installation on
my laptop as a reference.

When I i had initially installed it on the server I could not access
it and had to open the firewall to ports 5080, 8088, 9035 and 8443. At
this point I was able to access the actual install page (http://
sitenamegoeshere:5080/openmeetings/install?command=step1), but after
clicking the install button I get an endless wait message from the
browser (I've waited up to 30 min).

I've scanned the log files and I'm not getting any actual; errors.
There are some Java warning, but no actual errors.

Does anyone have any ideas?

thanks,

bing
