Re: [openmeetings-user] Problem with OpenLdap with SSL and OpenMeetings 1_8_8_r4555

2011-11-23 Thread seba.wag...@gmail.com
Hm,

I have to review, I don't know if anybody tried yet openLDAP with SSL.
However, your error mesage actually says:
Authentification on LDAP Server failed
= is there nothing more? Usually an error in the SSL cert leads to some
different messages, Authentification on LDAP Server failed actually means
everything is okay, but your PWD / admin user is wrong.

 Hello,
 1st and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS ON A EXCEPTIONAL SOFTWARE. Is truly
 awsome the level of maturity of the system, that being said

 I need a little bit of assistance,
 I have verson 1.8.8 (r4555) up and running on CentOS 6, I also integrated
 it with our OpenLdap with SSL, the ssl certificate has been imported in the
 trustore by running this command: keytool -import -trustcacerts -alias
 openmeetings -file ~/SSL/certs/mycert.crt -keystore ~/mykeystore.jks with
 success since after confirmation it claimed that it was imported
 successfully (the certificate is from digicert and I imported the ca.crt
 from them as well) . Now the problem is that I keep getting this error:
 Authentification on LDAP Server failed : ldap.server.com:636
 ERROR 11-22 21:39:19.361 LdapAuthBase.java 151883 106
 org.openmeetings.app.ldap.LdapAuthBase [NioProcessor-1] - [Authentification
 on LDAP Server failed]
 On the configuration file inside webapps/openmeetings/conf/ I called it
 myldap.cfg the I have the follwing:
 ldap_server_type=OpenLDAP
 ldap_conn_url=ldaps://ldap.server.com:636
 ldap_admin_dn=UID:OM,OU:Users,OU:acl,DC:domain,DC:com
 ldap_passwd=xyz
 ldap_search_base=OU:Users,OU:axs,DC:domain,DC:com
 field_user_principal=uid
 ldap_auth_type=SIMPLE
 ldap_sync_password_to_om=yes

 I have tested the ldap_admin_dn with ldap-tools and it binds perfectly
 well.

 Can someone through a little bit of light on what I'm doing wrong?, I'm
 running out of ideas.

 Thank you very much.

java.lang.Exception: Invalid file requested

The file is present. I looked up the code (DownloadHandler) where
the exception Invalid file requested is declared. The exception is
triggered when the current_dir doesn't match the beginning of the
full_path. Then I thought how on earth, the above log shows that
current_dir exactly matches the beginning of the full_path. Then I
looked back at the code and noticed that in the log output actually
this is not current_dir but working_dir which is declared:

(DownloadHandler line 225)
log.debug(requestedFile:  + requestedFile +  current_dir:  +
working_dir);

And here is my humble request to you Sebastian. Would it be possible
to add in the log output the actual current_dir just to make sure
if it triggers the exception or not, for example:

log.debug(requestedFile:  + requestedFile +  current_dir:  +
current_dir +  working_dir:  + working_dir);

For the time being I've tested all versions of openmeetings starting
with 1.6.2 and this one is running smoothly (at least under my XP),
1.7.0 is throwing me out of the room and since 1.8.0 when this throw
exception mechanism was introduced, none of 1.8.x file upload is
working for me.
Anyway, it seems you introduced a double checking mechanism as earlier
in the code you already check if the file exists.
Maybe it's something to do with the file management system on XP as I
noticed there were other XP users announcing similar problems.
I know I'm a real pain in the ... bottom, but I like your application
very much and would desperately:) like to use it in elearning with my
students.
Eventually I can do with 1.6.2 which is also splendid :)

[openmeetings-user] Undefined

Hello,

New install of 1.8.8. After doing anything for a period of time in
OpenMeetings, many labels will turn into undefined. At first we
suspected it was timing out, but it happens only 1-2 minutes into a
session. In addition, rooms, people and everything else disappear.
However if you re-login, everything comes back.

Re: [openmeetings-user] Strange behavior on calendar

Hi Patrick,

#2 = needs some verification

#3 = I cannot reproduce that one, can you make some screencast or

Sebastian

2011/11/23 superdx23 patrick.cc.c...@gmail.com

 Hello,

 Brand new installation of 1.8.8. We are testing the calendar, some
 very strange issues:

 #1 Adding an event at any time 5PM, 8AM etc.doesn't matter, the event
 always goes back to 1AM on the same day. If you try adjusting the time
 after, the event may jump back 1 day or jump foward 1 day to 1AM.

 #2 Dragging the event from 1 day to another does not keep the time. I
 have an event (1AM) on Tuesday, I drag the event to Thursday, and the
 time will randomly change to something like 7PM.

 #3 The duration also randomly changes. A new event is typically
 defaulted to 1 hour. If you move the slider bar around a bit, the
 duration of the event gets longer and longer.

 you can make a right click and see the source code of the moodle plugin,
 OpenMeetings is already using 100%. There are no more such settings in the

 If your Moodle installation behave's different its because of your Moodle

This is what sent me in the right direction: Caused by:
java.io.IOException: Invalid keystore format

I was calling the keytool built into the system and not the java one, so
the format of the keystore was gks instead of jks and that was the problem,
once I specify the whole path to the oracle keytool it went smooth.

Thank you again for your comments, actually those point me in the right

[openmeetings-user] Re: Strange behavior on calendar

2011-11-23 Thread superdx23
Hello Sebastian,

This is strange then, if it's set to my profile's timezone, shouldn't
it be the case that if I set it at 8AM, it displays as 8AM?

Or is there a server setting which also calculates differently. This
seems unintuitive. The user should always be looking at it from his
own timezone and there shouldn't be any changes.

I will work on a screencast and upload it - will Youtube be ok?

 Hi Patrick,

 #1 = events are displayed according to your timezone of your user-profile.

 #2 = needs some verification

 #3 = I cannot reproduce that one, can you make some screencast or
 screenshot that illustrates the issue?
