true. but I applied the lastest westcos cleanups and will also
apply the myeid cleanup (including a fix for a buffer overrun).

I asked people for help with silencing warnings, without thinking
prior about a freeze for 0.12, and it would be bad to drop those
patches or delay them.

Hello,

Andreas Jellinghaus:
here is a preview to 0.11.11, it contains a fix
for compiling with openssl 0.9.7. please give it a try.

I'm going to support GOST in tools, also I have some time to cleanup and
fix warnings. Do we need a new branch?
Thanks

lets say: branching is easy and cheap, and it much easier to merge your work
later, than to cherry pick only some changes in /trunk/ if we want to create
a new release with only some of those changes.

still, merging is a bit of a pain in subversion, at least compared to other
version control systems. but I think a new branch for that is a good idea.

or maybe better I should branch away trunk into an official 0.11 maint
branch, and then we merge all the stuff from martins 0.12 branch, and
make that the official 0.12 changes?

even cleanups and most new features should better go into 0.12 development,
or else we will have two branches for a long time.

what does everyone else think about it?

Start with a 0.12 tree and stop pushing the limits of 0.11 other than
for security/stability issues.
