The reason you're seeing problems with these examples is because Orkut is currently only serving version 0.5 of the OpenSocial API. If you're developing an application for Orkut, please test the version 0.5 API samples and you should see them work. When you will be able to use the 0.6 code in Orkut we will post in this group announcing it. Just for info, I've tried IE6, IE7 and Firefox (2.0.0.11) all on XP. Only my Firefox is working as expected. I've tried taking lots of security, access and other settings in IE down to Low/0/off, etc with no luck. Maybe helpful: This error happened to me in an intermitent way... a few retries (always with the &bpc=1 option, but not sure if it is related - probably not) made the opensocial JS namespace appear.
