I agree with kebabber. Solaris is the most common server operating system. When reliability, predictability and uniform upgrades and support are required, sensible IT teams always chose Solaris. It is a known fact in the veteran community. Unfortunately, newbies and google engineers do not seem to understand that. [osol-discuss] touchpad scroll and other
I have installed and running Opensolaris 2008.11 on a Toshiba Tecra M5. I am unable to get the following working yet. 1. Tochpad scroll 2. mplayer plugin to Firefox 3. Repository to download and install packages to play DVDs and MP3s I was running Fedora 8 on the same laptop previously with all of the above. I really want to get OpenSolaris running on this laptop. [osol-discuss] configuration management choice - puppet Vs CFengine ?
I am trying to implement configuration management tool for my organization who has about 1500+ heterogeneous UNIX/LINUX systems. However, after some research, I am trying to choose between puppet and cfengine. But, I am so confused which one to go with. Can anyone who has experience on both tools share with me your input on your selection and briefly explain why ?
