Re: [osol-discuss] OS b132: Sun C++ cannot compile C++ source due to linker segfault.

2010-02-24 Thread William Kucharski
What I see in b133 is this:

$ CC test.cc
CC: Fatal error in ld: Segmentation Fault (core dumped)
ld: fatal: file /opt/sunstudio12.1/prod/lib/crti.o: section [9].rela.annotate
has invalid type [ SHT_RELA ]

Re: [osol-discuss] [emerging-platforms-discuss] [powerpc-discuss] Project Proposal -- Port to MIPS architecture

2008-10-24 Thread William Kucharski
OK, the charter looks good, I just need a couple names to put down as project
leads.

If I don't hear anything I'll put down John as one.

Also, I apologize for being slow about this, but I really do need to make a
PowerPC project under Emerging Platforms and delete the PowerPC CG once and for
all.

 Thanks,
William Kucharski

Re: [osol-discuss] [powerpc-discuss] Project Proposal -- Port to MIPS architecture

2008-10-23 Thread William Kucharski
So if there is sufficient interest in a MIPS project, I would be happy to get
the ball rolling by formally proposing the creation of such a project under the
Emerging Platforms CG.

I'd just need to know the charter and who wants to be the project leads.

Re: [osol-discuss] solaris 8 container installation failed

2008-08-11 Thread William Kucharski
I noticed that the source for the first installation is listed as /engr.flar.

Did you fail to specify the full path to the archive (e.g.
/opt/flash/engr.flar) for the install?

Re: [osol-discuss] number displayed by prstat -a

2008-05-08 Thread William Kucharski
I haven't dug into the complete details of the calculation, but the top entry
is the RSS as calculated for output via ps(1) via /proc and is the RSS for just
that process.

The second line is the RSS calculated as being in use throughout the system for
the user in question, and as such may include some shared memory areas the
first calculation does not.
