This is not a good test. You can install IPS from SVR4 packages onto a 
Solaris 10 system. cat /etc/release is much better.

Since it says SunOS 5.10, you are running Solaris 10, a previous
generation of the operating system.   (OpenSolaris would report
SunOS 5.11.)
