Re: [osol-discuss] Studio Express 6/10?
Here's a blog entry that may help clarify things: http://blogs.sun.com/tatkar/entry/sun_studio_ide_vs_netbeans This was based on Sun Sudio 12 Update 1 & NetBeans IDE 6.8. /kso Kuldip Oberoi | Sr. Manager | +650.786.0149 Oracle Corporation - Sun Developer Tools 16 Network Circle, UMPK 16-303, Menlo Park, CA 94025 Michael Brzustowicz wrote: I've always wondered ... if one installs the full c/c++ plugins for netbeans, do you get EXACTLY the same features as sun studio / sun studio express ... or is there some reason to have a separate installation of sun studio in addition to netbeans? ___ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org
Re: [osol-discuss] Studio Express 6/10?
There's been a discussion in pkg-discuss and there are CRs and webrev requests: https://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=15623 http://cr.opensolaris.org/~quenelle/webrev.15623/ So, yes, teams are working on it. /kso Kuldip Oberoi | Sr. Manager | +650.786.0149 Oracle Corporation - Sun Developer Tools 16 Network Circle, UMPK 16-303, Menlo Park, CA 94025 Tim Scanlon wrote: "Oracle Solaris Studio Express 6/10 is supported on Solaris 10 (SPARC, x86), OEL 5 (x86), RHEL 5 (x86), SuSE 11 (x86) today and will be made available for OpenSolaris in the near future." Yea ok when is that "near future" going to be? Anyone? Or is this more of the usual marketing BS I'm growing oh-so-used-to from Oracle? Re: [osol-discuss] Studio Express 6/10?
Hi Tim, Sun Studio Express 6/10 is not officially supported on OpenSolaris distros <= ON snv_b138 due to the installer and few library updates needed. You can use the 'tarball' to do the basic installation. The other thing is installing NetBeans 6.9 properly - it comes with NetBeans 6.8 support.
