Good, didn't see a "More..." any where.

Duplicate, see above.

Incidentally, I couldn't use CTRL+ALT+G for the grid dropdown on the
login screen. Is this intentional for the v2.6.x builds?

Re: [opensource-dev] Autobuilt / VS2010 viewer testing needed

2011-03-19 Thread Philippe (Merov) Bossut
Hi all,

WolfPup and myself both found a regression:
- STORM-1090 : fonts appear smaller

I could confirm this was not an issue in the current 2.6.1 and clearly
specific to the viewer-autobuild2010 branch. I've the strange feeling we had
a similar issue way back when in Snowglobe so if someone remembers how we
solve it or has operational font knowledge, that'd be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
- Merov

I agree Oz - but as I have found 91 hard-coded colours in /default/xui/en/
alone
I hardly felt like listing them all. I restrict myself to logging JIRAs for
crashing, performance or serious usability issues. If I were to raise one
every
time I found an xml 'bug' I'd be rather busy becoming your xml QA department :).

I seem to remember that some of my xml files were created solely because of the
hard-coded colours, so I'll have a look through and raise some JIRAs for those
when I have some time.

[opensource-dev] Autobuilt / VS2010 viewer testing needed

2011-03-19 Thread Oz Linden (Scott Lawrence)

We're very close to being able to finally merge the changes to build the
viewer with our own new Autobuild framework and Visual Studio 2010.
Because of the change of tools and the fact that many of the
dependencies it uses are now newer versions, merging it to
viewer-development has to be considered fairly high risk. Any help that
the community can provide with testing it would be very much appreciated.

Builds can be found at

https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Downloading_test_builds#Developer_Builds

and will probably be updated fairly frequently, so please be sure to
cite specific build versions (fully qualified) when reporting a problem.

VWR issues on this should be linked to
https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/STORM-1087

If you find a problem, please check to see if it also exists in the
current Development viewer - if it does, then it's not a problem with
this branch specifically, so don't link it to that merge issue.

To be fair they have enabled skinning in Viewer 2.6.0, and I am taking
advantage
of that - thanks guys :).

The odd thing for me is that 2.6 is using two separate settings files which
makes it a bit messier for those of us doing mods. I can see why it has been
done that way - so that various features are changed/disabled. It would have
been cleaner to have modal checks in the code (or even better have 'basic'
equivalents of the debug settings), but the way it has been done is quicker and
does allow easier tweaking while it is being developed.

I agree that adding that as an option should do a lot to improve adoption - it
has become a bit of a sticking point with those that won't even try the latest
Viewer 2 versions. At least the way that it has been done in the Basic mode
gives TPV developers a standard way of doing it in their implementations.

Other comments:

There really is a need for a minimal inventory, as it is the inventory does pop
up some times when given something - a bug that needs fixing.

And a plea - remind your developers to use the referenced colours in the
colors.xml file rather than hard-coding them.

As Rod says, this is an important first step and I'm sure it will get better.
