Re: [opensource-dev] pasting into quick search

2010-12-07 Thread Ellla McMahon
The fix version on STORM-716 is Second Life 2.4.0 (215891) Dec 2 2010
14:24:59 (Second Life Beta Viewer)

But VWR-24070 reports this issue on Second Life 2.5.0 (216008) Dec 3 2010
06:12:47 (Second Life Developer)

Not sure what this indicates !! :))

That was a bug I fixed last week. STORM-716.

It seems to be fixed in both beta and viewer-development. Are you sure
 you're using the latest build?

Can someone see if they can repo this?
On todays builds, if i click into an empty quick search bar (the one by the
L$) and attempt to paste something using control-v, it doesn't let me
paste. Instead it opens a drop box of everything ive previously searched
for. however if i right click paste or if i enter something into the box
first, I can use control v. Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: [opensource-dev] Latest LL viewer beta has inventory count issues?

Recently reported against Second Life Server

fails to load fully https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-6353

It has been ongoing for well over a year

so maybe not the issue you are seeing. Reporter *was* using Second Life
2.2.0 (210127), so maybe this issue is more obvious in the 2.2 Beta.

Older issue SVC-5902 https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5902 Client
gives up before finishing to load full inventory due to packet loss and

Anyone else noticing the inventory counts in the latest LL beta client are
increasingly less than the count in the production release client and that
cache clear does not correct it?

Re: [opensource-dev] User Stories: Water Prims

There's some suggestions on VWR-16671 and linked issues.

As a User, I would like the ability to apply a Linden supplied texture or
Prim Type flag to turn a prim into Linden Water (such as a cube). This
 would
allow residents to use Linden Water on multiple ground heights on land

 various
shader features, doesn't match up to, and/or looks worse then the Linden
Water. As a resident I would like a standard for these kinds of
  applications.

 +1 for this.

I've been wishing for this for use in fountains and pools for years.

I'd love to see that syntax highlighting and hover tip code replaced, we
really shouldn't need anything in lscript in the viewer. If the syntax
highlighting / hover tips could be read from an LLSD we could provide a
capability 'lsl-syntax' which could be queried for a version or the whole
map. Then you could get accurate syntax highlighting for the sim you are on
 independent of the viewer.

At the risk of designing this via email... oh, what the heck.

User story: As a developer of LSL scripts, I want LSL the syntax
highlighting dictionary to be updated automagically so I don't have to
upgrade my viewer whenever new LSL functions or keywords are added.

Per-sim versioning is a nice-to-have but we could probably start simpler
and have a per-grid resource. During login, the viewer can be given the URL
to an LLSD resource it can *lazily* request. (We do this for other grid-wide
 services.)

We could later choose to extend this to be a capability granted by the
simulator, which the viewer could query on each region change (when it gets
a new seed cap) to give the granularity Kelly describes above.

The server side changes to deliver a static URL to an LLSD resource from
login are minimal; if someone wants to take a stab at the client side
 changes and defining a forward-looking LLSD format, I'm sure you'll find a
 server-side champion.
