Re: [opensource-dev] Where do I ask for a feature ?

2010-11-01 Thread Sarah (Esbee) Hutchinson
Hi Laurent,

To request a feature, simply log into https://jira.secondlife.com/ and click
the "Create Issue" button in the upper right-hand corner of the page. The
project will be VWR and your issue type is "Feature Request".

Once you submit it, we'll pick it up in triage and review!

Best,
Esbee

Re: [opensource-dev] [META] Related JIRA Issue Creation

2010-11-01 Thread Sarah (Esbee) Hutchinson
Hi Ricky,

I would suggest that you submit the epic-level user story as a feature
request, then each of the compatible features could be added to the feature
request as a sub-task. That will make it easier for me to review when you
submit.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to help!

Best,
Esbee

[opensource-dev] Friday Sprint Review Meeting - Canceled

2010-10-27 Thread Sarah (Esbee) Hutchinson
Just a quick note to let you know I'm canceling the Sprint Review Meeting
scheduled for this Friday at 8am PT.

We didn't introduce a pile of new features this Sprint and have been mostly
focused on stablization and crashers. I've also not made enough progress on
Preferences design and requirements to review that either. (I apologize for
that and will work to get this done as quickly as possible).

We'll do a smaller review at our Sprint Retrospective on Monday.

If you have any questions or comments. Please let me know!

[opensource-dev] Canceled Today - Snowstorm Sprint Review Meeting

2010-10-15 Thread Sarah (Esbee) Hutchinson
Good morning all,

Sprint 5 has been focused on overall stabilization of the current Viewer 2.2
Beta. As such, we have no new user stories that require product review and
discussion, so I'm canceling today's Sprint Review meeting. We'll still get
together on Monday for the Sprint Retrospective and I encourage everybody to
be thinking about how we did this sprint and how we can improve in the
next.

Hey all,

I'm very sorry I missed the Daily Scrum today. I've been on the phone most

Given that we're in between sprints, daily stand-ups have been spotty the
past week anyway, but we'll resume next week with a normal schedule (and
likely a new meeting time).

Re: [opensource-dev] 2.0 Absolute Dealbreaker - script count feature request

2010-09-27 Thread Sarah (Esbee) Hutchinson
Hi Miss C,

The script count feature you requested is something that the Snowstorm Team
wouldn't work on as its not really a Viewer feature - requiring mostly work
on the server-side.

I've moved the issue to our Land team so they can evaluate and prioritize
the request. Unfortunately, the Land Team's tasks are not publicly visible
in the new Jira set up. The ticket was moved intact with all the supporting
data and will be given proper consideration.

Best,
Esbee

This is really a request for a new script function to report # of scripts on
an avatar; it's not a viewer feature (or even possible to do
correctly/reliably with current grid protocols). Kicking to the Land team
for evaluation/prioritization.

[opensource-dev] [Important] Plan for this week -- canceling Sprint Retrospective (today) & Sprint Planning (tomorrow)

2010-09-27 Thread Sarah (Esbee) Hutchinson
Good morning all,

I chatted with Q this morning about the Viewer 2.2 Beta and how we can best
spend our time over the coming week.

Based on our discussion, I've *canceled the Sprint Retrospective planned for
today and also the Sprint Planning meeting scheduled for tomorrow*. Instead,
we'd like everybody to *focus on Viewer 2.2 Beta bug fixing and
stabilization*.

If you have any questions, please ping Q or myself in #snowstorm
(LL-internal IRC) or #opensl (public IRC) - or respond to this email. I'm
going to go through our current list of bugs in STORM right now and update
their affects versions tags so we know which ones are most important for the
Viewer 2.2 Beta.

Thanks!

Good catch, Miss C! I'm seeing this in both the release and development
Viewers.

I talked to Q and he doesn't see any reason we can't make that
page publicly accessible so I'll create a version of it on the public wiki
and we'll change the reference on that floater as well.

You can track the ticket here: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/STORM-201

Great! Thanks, Anya. We'll still do a Daily Scrum update this morning -
we'll use the first few minutes of the Sprint Planning meeting to do that.
So hopefully by the time you arrive we'll be in Sprint Planning mode :)

Hi all,

Just a quick reminder that we won't meet tomorrow at 6:30am PT for the Daily
Scrum. Instead we'll meet from 7-9am PT for Sprint 4 Planning.

With the big Jira switchover, I'm a bit behind organizing stories and
defects for this sprint, but will try to get us ready tonight!

See you tomorrow!

Best,

Snowstorm isn't a Viewer, so there's no need to list it separately.
Snowstorm is just the name of the team working on the official Second Life
Viewer.
