I've build with ./config --prefix=/usr shared no-idea no-rc5 no-mdc2 as the Cygwin net distribution, and for testing purposes with ./config and both builds ran fine. Which Cygwin version are you using? To be fair: I have lost the track of the current state of the problem and I don't have the environment around (and the time to set it up) to work this out myself.
