Quick & Dirty guide for OpenSSL

2000-07-19 Thread Premson P R

Hi all,

I am new to this group. I hope there are many
experts who are already done a lot in SSL.
It would be of great help to me if anyone
would provide me with a Quick & Dirty for
installing & configuring OpenSSL+mod_ssl on
Apache.

Sample scripts & examples would be of great
help to me.

Thanks in advance

A newbie question on email clients

2000-07-20 Thread Premson P R

Hi mariano,

>From u're discussion it is obvious that the
email clients u used (outlook, eudora, netscape)
had support for base64 encoding. But do the
popular free email services like Yahoo, Hotmail
etc ... support these features of encoding
irrespective of using any email clients.

Re: Installation Problem

2000-09-13 Thread Premson P R

Hi,

The problem is with your "make" utility in linux.
But i believe red hat 6.2 has all the tools required
for compiling. I have Apache1.3.12+Mod_SSL+OpenSSL
running beautifully on my RH6.2.

Check out your make utility . if possible try
reinstalling the make utility.

By the way are u able to make other softwares
from scratch using your RH O/S .. if yes
then u're make util is fine . if no
reinstall the stuff (make utility).

Hope this solves u're problem initially

Re: SSL in RedHat 6.2

2000-09-15 Thread Premson P R

Hi,

That's surprising that RH 6.2 did not come with a
make utility. Anyway. if "make" is not available u
can download it from any of the gnu mirror sites.
Or just simply look into

ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/

& install u're make utility.

The next part, modssl explains its installation
procedure right from scratch which i feel is more
effective, once u read this .

 http://www.modssl.org/example/

which requires Apache's, mod_ssl's & openssl's source
as prerequisites for the installtion & more important
is the "make" utility.

By the way . if have already installed apache from
rpm's .. see that it is stopped, before u proceed
with the installation of modssl.

Best of Luck

Hi,

Looks like u're Sun Workshop requires some patches

then there should be some sure problem with u're
