How can we achieve this with Folsom.? As well i want to understand the real time deployment of Teanant VMs for Public Access using Public -IPs, I hope it can be achieved in Folsom setup as well. Can any one give me inputs on this. Just curious to understand the quantum router use case apart from NAT,iptable rules any other advantages we have in real time deployments. please share your understanding and experience. Hi Openers, One doubt i have is like, as we see in the demo setup in the Quantum Admin guide available in openstack.org, we have Network Node as a seperate physical node connected to Controller Node and Compute Node. But i see that the openstack community who is actively using Folsom is not discussing more on this kind of setup. Not sure if iam missing any key information on this like that the Network Node setup may not be widely used in current deployment scenarios or it is too early to use Network Node as a seperate physical host for openstack. Atleast we should have continued with ZONES until CELLS were part of up-stream releases. I was waiting for this feature eagerly to explore more on this. Can we try with the patch listed below. The patch is here: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/10707/ It was proposed for inclusion on August 2nd, which was just a couple of weeks before the feature freeze. There were enough significant things that came up in discussion that it just wasn't going to make it in for Folsom. In addition to working through the technical details, it also desperately needs some documentation (ideally both architectural, as well as how to use it). However quantum-rootwrap is currently non-functional, missing a lot of filter definitions that are necessary for it to work correctly. Quantum is generally run with root_helper=sudo and a wildcard sudoers file. That means Quantum is not ready to deprecate in Folsom (and remove in Grizzly) its ability to run with root_helper=sudo, like Nova and Cinder do. I discussed this with Dan, and it appears that the sanest approach would be to remove quantum-rootwrap from Quantum and only support root_helper=sudo (the only option that works). I suspect nobody is actually using quantum-rootwrap right now anyway, given how broken it seems to be. For the first official release of Quantum as an OpenStack core project, I would prefer not to ship half-working options :) Quantum would then wait for rootwrap to move to openstack-common (should be done in Grizzly) to reconsider using it. Let me know if any of you see issues with that approach.
