The functional tests of Swift are "black box" type of testing, AFAIK
there is indeed no "white box" testing that would test the auditors or
replicators directly.

most keystone devs would talk in #openstack-dev there is no
#openstack-keystone irc channel per se (but i guess it would be good
to get one like for the other openstack projects ).

You can set the variable :

SWIFT_REPLICAS=3

and it would just do that (still using loops not drives).
