[openstack-dev] [heat][nova] Does Heat support Nova micro versions

2018-10-27 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
Does heat support os-compute-api-version? Say for example I am using queens but
have a use case via heat that requires a API parameter that was capped in the
2.56 microversion.
Thanks

[openstack-dev] [neutron] Core status

2018-09-19 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
I have recently transitioned to a new role where I will be working on other
parts of OpenStack. Sadly I do not have the necessary cycles to maintain my
core responsibilities in the neutron community. Nonetheless I will continue to
be involved.

[openstack-dev] [Neutron] Bug status

2018-09-06 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
It has been a relatively quiet week and not many issues opened. There are a few
bugs with IPv6 subnets. Most have missing information and I have asked the
reporters for some extra information. Not any blockers are issues that are
concerning.
Wishing everyone a productive PTG.

Subject: [openstack-dev] [openstack-infra] How to take over a project?

Dear OpenStack Infra team,

I would like to know how to take over an OpenStack project.
I am a committer of the networking-onos project
(https://github.com/openstack/networking-onos),
and I would like to take over the project.
The current maintainer (cc’d) has already agreed with that.

Please let me know the process to take over (or change the maintainer of) the
project.

BTW, it looks like even the current maintainer cannot create a new branch of
the codes. How can we get the authority to create a new branch?

Thank you,

Sangho

Maybe we should consider unblocking the stable versions at the moment and then
enabling us to address in each project.

Potential fixes seem to be adjusting the tools/tox_install.sh in
each of these projects to stop erroring when passed only a single
argument, or switch to relying on tox-siblings in those jobs so that
the neutron-horizon-hack role can be dropped from them entirely.
There is some discussion in https://review.openstack.org/561593 but
a centralized temporary workaround is somewhat risky since the
people in charge of reviewing any eventual revert will have a hard
time knowing when it's finally safe to do so.

I guess neutron-dynamic-routing should  also have ryu>=4.24.

Gary,

I think this is caused by the recent pip change and pip no longer cannot import

[openstack-dev] [neutron][horizon][l2gw] Unable to create a floating IP

2018-04-09 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
From Queens onwards we have a issue with horizon and L2GW. We are unable to
create a floating IP. This does not occur when using the CLI only via horizon.
The error received is
‘Error: User does not have admin privileges: Cannot GET resource for non admin
tenant. Neutron server returns request_ids:
['req-f07a3aac-0994-4d3a-8409-1e55b374af9d']’
This is due to:
https://github.com/openstack/networking-l2gw/blob/master/networking_l2gw/db/l2gateway/l2gateway_db.py#L316
This worked in Ocata and not sure what has changed since then ☹. Maybe in the
past the Ocata quota’s were not checking L2gw.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Gary

Re: [openstack-dev] [neutron] [OVN] Tempest API / Scenario tests and OVN metadata

2018-04-08 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
There are some tempest tests that check realization of resources on the
networking platform and connectivity. Here things are challenging as each
networking platform may be more restrictive than the upstream ML2 plugin. My
thinking here is that we should leverage the tempest plugins for each
networking platform and they can overwrite the problematic tests and address
them as suitable for the specific plugin.
Thanks
Gary

this issue isn't only for networking ovn, please note that it happens with a
flew other vendor plugins (like nsx), at least this is something we have found
in downstream certifications.

Thank you for bringing the root cause to our attention and I'm sorry we
made a mistake that broke the driver. You are right that the VMware CI
vote should have been taken into consideration and that the VMware
subteam members should have been added as reviewers on the patch.

It was not my intention to blame the VMware CI for not voting enough. I
just wanted to know what happened to it and whether or not it is being
maintained.

I would like to see the VMware CI running again and it need only run on
changes under the nova/virt/vmwareapi/ tree, to save on your resources.
And on our side, I'd like us to add VMware subteam members to VMware
driver patch reviews (I believe most of the active team members are
listed on the priorities etherpad [0]) and to be sure we consult VMware
CI votes when we review.

Best,
-melanie

Subject: [openstack-dev] Adding Brian Haley to the Neutron Drivers team

Hi Neutrinos,
As we all know, the Neutron Drivers team plays a crucial role in helping the
community to evolve the OpenStack Networking architecture to meet the needs of
our current and future users [1]. To strengthen this team, I have decided to
add Brian Haley to it. Brian has two decades of experience in open source
networking technology. He joined the OpenStack community contributing code to
nova-network in the Diablo release. His first Neutron commit (known as Quantum
at the time) dates back to March of 2013 [2]. Since then, his many
contributions include the implementation and evolution of our L3 and DVR code.
He is one of our most active core reviewers and a prolific contributor of code
to our reference implementation. I am very confident that Brian will be a
continuous source of knowledge, experience and valuable insight to the Drivers
team.
Best regards
Miguel

[openstack-dev] [requirements][l2gw] Latest requirements

Hi,
We have a problem with the l2gw tags. The requirements file indicates that we
should be pulling in >=12.0.0 and in fact its pulling networking_l2gw-2016.1.0

I see neutron installed:

But later it's downgraded - like it's done for the other requirements
you have. So, this uncovered a problem in your install.

pip install -U breaks it, please double check that this does the right

I think it is worth adding a comment in (test-)requirements.txt that the
OpenStack CI is overriding the version and uses git.

Hi,
The change
https://github.com/openstack/requirements/commit/35653e8c5044bff1059f50a82b6065176eea
has created some issues with decomposed neutron plugins. Let me try and give
an example to explain.
Say for example a patch landed in neutron master that exposed feature X. Now if
a decomposed plugin wants to consume this it will fail as the decomposed plugin
will pull in the latest tag.
Does this mean for each new feature that we wish to consume we will need to
update neutron tags?
Please advise.
Thanks

Say for example a patch landed in neutron master that exposed feature X. Now if
a decomposed plugin wants to consume this it will fail as the decomposed plugin
will pull in the latest tag.
Does this mean for each new feature that we wish to consume we will need to
update neutron tags?
Please advise.
Thanks
Gary

Re: [openstack-dev] [neutron][sdk] Proposal to migrate neutronclient python bindings to OpenStack SDK

Thanks for the clarification.

Hi Gary,

You are talking about vender extension support in OSC, but this is
about python bindings.
I believe this is another topic. Commands implemented in OSC repo
already consumes OpenStack SDK, so the proposed change just increases
the number of python bindings supported in SDK.

Regarding the topic of third-party extension support after OSC
transition, possible options in my mind is to keep "neutron" CLI, or
to add some command which handle general network resources as
neutronclient OSC plugin. It is a compromise considering the current
neutron API. Note that OpenStackSDK proxy object supports
keystoneauth.Adapter, so even after migrating to OpenStackSDK, this
does not block arbitrary attributes immediately even though they are
things we would like to avoid. If you and/or boden are interested in
implementing so-called "generic network resource" commands in Neutron
OSC plugin, I can help the effort (as it speed up neutron CLI
deprecation).

One of the concerns here is that the openstack client does not enable one to
configure extensions that are not part of the core reference architecture. So
any external third part that tries to have any etension added will not be able
to leverage the openstack client. This is a major pain point.

Maybe we start converting one thing at a time and when we find something
sdk doesn't support we should be able to add it pretty quickly... which
should then also wind up improving the sdk layer.

Yeah our CI isn't ready yet for stable/queens, sorry for that.
I propose to disable TripleO jobs in stable/queens for l2gw project:

Re: [openstack-dev] [neutron][lbaas][neutron-lbaas][octavia] Announcing the deprecation of neutron-lbaas and neutron-lbaas-dashboard

2018-02-12 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
I have a number of issues with this:
1. I do not think that we should mark this as deprecated until we have a clear
and working migration patch. Let me give an example. Say I have a user who is
using Pike or Queens and has N LBaaS load balancers up and running. What if we
upgrade to T and there is no LBaaS, only Octavia. What is the migration path
here? Maybe I have missed this and would be happy to learn how this was done.
2. I think that none of the load balancing vendors have code in Octavia and
this may be a problem (somewhat related to #1). I guess that there is enough
warning but this is still concerning
3. The migration from V1 to V2 was not successful. So, I have some concerns
about going to a new service completely.
I prefer that we hold off on this until there is a clear picture.
Thanks
Gary

Reading the whole FAQ - since bug fixes are planned, translations can
merge back. So, indeed we can keep translation infrastructure set up.

I recommend to translators to remove neutron-lbaas-dashboard from the

Subject: [Openstack] Issues Understanding Neutron Networking Layout

Hello

I’m trying to create a Pike system with Carbon ODL integration using a single
Controller node and a single Compute node.

The Controller Node has a single 1GE NIC to the management network. It will
not run any compute or network services.

The Compute Node has a single 1GE NIC to the management network and 4 x 10GE
NICS for public network access. I will be creating 4 VXNets, 4 routers, 4
pools of public floating IP addresses.

I have built the machines using DevStack (configs attached).

It seems that even though the Controller node will have no network/compute
functions, I still need to declare the ODL and networking parts in the
local.conf on the controller. But this implies that the Controller also has
to have access to the 10GE network which I don’t want or need.

I have created 4 OVS bridges on both the Controller and the Compute nodes but
the corresponding NICs on the Controller are not connected anywhere. The
bridges are br-physnet1 to br-physnet4 and these link to em1 to em4
respectively. Only the em1 – em4 on the Compute node are actually active.

I then create the VXLAN, router and DHCP agent.

However, when I try to start an instance on the Compute node post DevStack
installation, I hit an issue where the GUI tells me it has been “unable to
allocate network.”

I see no attempt to create a VXLAN between the Controller and the Compute node.
IPTables is open and a sniff on port 4789 reveals no traffic back and forth
(on either side).

Does the Controller need to be physically connected to the same public facing
networks as the Compute node?

Alternatively, how can I get all the Networking functions to run in the Compute
node so that the Controller is just a controller?

Thanks

David

Hi neutrinos,

To some of you this email may not come as a surprise.

During the past few months my upstream community engagements have been more and
more sporadic. While I tried hard to stay committed and fulfill my core
responsibilities I feel like I failed to retain the level of quality and
consistency that I would have liked ever since I stepped down from being the
Neutron PTL back at the end of Ocata.

I stated many times when talking to other core developers that being core is a
duty rather than a privilege, and I personally feel like it's way overdue for
me to recognize on the mailing list that it's the time that I state officially
my intention to step down due to other commitments.

This does not mean that I will disappear tomorrow. I'll continue to be on
neutron IRC channels, support the neutron team, being the release liasion for
Queens, participate at meetings, and be open to providing feedback to anyone
who thinks my opinion is still valuable, especially when dealing with the
neutron quirks for which I might be (git) blamed :)

Hi Neutron Team,

I want to nominate Slawek Kaplonski (irc: slaweq) to Neutron core. Slawek has
been an active contributor to the project since the Mitaka cycle. He has been
instrumental in the development of the QoS capabilities in Neutron, becoming
the lead of the sub-team focused on that set of features. More recently, he has
collaborated in the implementation of OVO and is an active participant in the
CI sub-team. His number of code reviews during the Queens cycle is on par with
the leading core members of the team:
http://stackalytics.com/?module=neutron

In my opinion, his efforts are highly valuable to the team and we will be very
lucky to have him as a fully voting core.

I will keep this nomination open for a week as customary,

Thank you,

Miguel

"screen -r" and got the following error,

stack@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu/devstack$ screen -r
Cannot open your terminal '/dev/pts/28' - please check.

Could you please let us know how to view screens to restart devstack service.
Thank you.

Re: [openstack-dev] [all][infra] Zuul v3 rollout, the sequel

2017-10-10 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
At the moment the neutron, neutron-lib and many of the decomposed projects are
still failing with the v3. Does this mean that we are broken from the 11th?
For the decomposed projects we have a work around to help address this in the
short term – need to increase timeout and need a flag from Zuul3 that is not
part of Jenkins -
https://github.com/openstack/vmware-nsx/blob/master/tools/tox_install_project.sh#L37
 (can we have ZUUL3_CLONER?)
Thanks
Gary

all of the benefits (though hopefully none of the drawbacks!) you
witnessed when we tried the first time.

It's been right at a week since we instituted a partial rollback of
our initial v3 roll-out. That week has been filled by diagnosing and
fixing all of the misbehaviors and performance degradation we
identified, including some new issues we discovered while running
under even heavier load and memory pressure artificially induced by
trying to fire check jobs for everything v2 was running but with
only a fraction of the node capacity. Numerous issues within the
translated legacy job configs were also fixed, and a bunch more of
them replaced by v3-native jobs.

We anticipate an outage for the CI system of somewhere between 30-60
minutes starting at 11:00 UTC on Wednesday October 11. Once
complete, we'll send a follow-up announcement along with a link to
where we're coordinating and triaging any newly observed issues. In
the meantime, if you've been digging into recent legacy job failures
for your projects you should consider trying to bring them to our
attention as soon as possible (in #openstack-infra on the Freenode
IRC network, or replying on-list to this announcement) and work on
fixing them if you're familiar enough with the failures to do so
yourself. We're assembling a sort of FAQ in the migration guide
here:

https://docs.openstack.org/infra/manual/zuulv3.html

...and we also have some more content in progress at:

https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/zuulv3-migration-faq

In summary, Zuul v3 is looking better than ever, and we hope you'll
be as pleased with it as we are!

Re: [openstack-dev] Security of Meta-Data

Hi,
You can configure the metadata service to be secure. You just need to make sure
that nova is configured correctly. FYI -

Thanks

So private keys would be a no-no, public keys would be ok (since they

Along the same lines; where is the best place to get help with zuul v3
issues? The neutron-lib gate is on the floor with multiple problems; 2
broken gating jobs preventing patches from landing and all periodic jobs
broken preventing (safe) releases of neutron-lib. I've been adding the
issues to the etherpad [1] and trying to work through them solo, but
progress is very slow.

Yes 508775 is an example of what you should do. Adding a .zuul.yaml file
is something you can do but not necessary to correct this problem. You
would use a repo local .zuul.yaml file to add new jobs to your project.

This is specific to certain jobs. You can see general live status to
compare against global state at http://status.openstack.org/zuul. In
this particular case the job has attempted to provide a helpful error
message [0]. You should be able to create an openstack-tox-pep8 job
variant for vmware-nsx that includes neutron as a required project.
Documentation for how to go about that can be found at [1].

This does raise the question of why vmware-nsx needs to install neutron
to run pep8 though.

OK, so ultimately this isn't something we can rely on from neutron?
[Gary] No, you can rely on it from Neutron – you just need to be aware that if
the extension is supported then it can be used. If not then you should continue
to use the existing configuration vaiable

 Does that
mean we should abandon the idea of providing FQDN when using neutron? Mores
to
the original point, is there any reason we would want to/should use FQDN?

[Gary] Yes, we should support this. Applications make use of this and hence the
support

2017-09-04 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
Your patch https://review.openstack.org/#/c/480616/ requires that neutron
expose the ‘DNS Integration’ extension be support by neutron and the relevant
networking plugin. If it does not then will be a gression and things will not
work.
In addition to this that is per network and not global so there will also be a
regression for running instances if nova is updated.
Thanks
Gary

can extract and use inside the guest, i.e. this won't happen without cloud-

the
instance name and local domain name. However, as noted in bug #1698010 [1],
the

I've started work on a fix [3] that will allow us to retrieve this

from neutron instead, uncoupling us from this legacy option. However, some
commentators have pointed out that this may not necessarily be what we want
to
do: a FQDN is a hostname and domain name, and using one as a hostname may
not
be that clever nor correct.

My networking fu isn't strong enough to deliver a verdict so I'm hoping

else can make my mind up for me: do we want to migrate this feature to
neutron,
or do we want to stop using FQDN and just use instance names?

Cheers,
Stephen

Re: [Openstack] Looking for a case study

2017-07-18 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
As part of trying to help people use OpenStack I encouraged a friend of mine
who was teaching a course at a University to have all of his students do their
projects on OpenStack instances. Prior to each lab he would prep a snapshot of
the instance and then the students would continue from them. It was a great
success.
Each student was a tenant and had their own isolated networks etc. It was fun
and in the end a very successful endeavor.
Thanks

How about implementing a campus lab network for students?
You could use multiple servers to spin up controller, compute and network. And
then segregate userspace for each student which would use Keystone for
authorization. Additionally you could maintain a state of the quotas allocated
to each student.

- The case study should involve KeyStone for authentication and authorisation

- The case study should be stateful.

Any clues in this regard would be very helpful.

Re: [openstack-dev] [Nova][Neutron] Allow passing security groups when attaching interfaces?

2017-07-06 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
When you attach an interface there are a number of options:
1. Pass a existing port
2. Pass a network
In the second case a new port will be created and by default that will have the
default security group.
You could try the first option by attaching the security group to the port

Subject: [openstack-dev] [Nova][Neutron] Allow passing security groups when
attaching interfaces?

Hi,

Our product has meet this kind of problem, when we boot instances, we are
allowed to pass security groups, and if we provided network id, ports with the
sg we passed will be created and when we show instances, we can see security
groups field of instance is the sg we provided. But when we attach again some
new interfaces(using network_id), the newly added interfaces will be in the
default security group.

We are wondering, will it be better to allow passing security groups when
attaching interfaces? or it is considered to be a proxy-api which we do not
like?

Thanks. Maybe this would be a good opportunity to just have people start
putting everything in neutron.conf if they want to switch to wsgi.

Most projects are using a default location, for example:

https://review.openstack.org/#/c/459450/11/glance/common/wsgi_app.py

Which IIRC I just looked at how other project's wsgi entrypoints were doing it
when I wrote that. The issue I think we'll hit with Neutron is that by default
we tell everyone to do that annoying multi-file config setup, which makes doing
a default like this difficult. Personally I think we need to change that,
because it's not needed and makes it generally confusing, but even if we did
it wouldn't solve the upgrade path from non-wsgi to wsgi.

Re: [openstack-dev] [neutron] security group OVO change

2017-06-19 Thread Gary Kotton
Sorry for being vague – have been debugging.
We overwrite the base method:

with db_api.context_manager.writer.using(context):
secgroup_db = (
super(NsxV3Plugin, self).create_security_group(
context, security_group, default_sg))
nsx_db.save_sg_mappings(context,
secgroup_db['id'],
ns_group['id'],
firewall_section['id'])
self._process_security_group_properties_create(context,
   secgroup_db,
   secgroup,
   default_sg)

The secgroup_db that returns always has empty rules. If I remove the
transaction then it works.
Still trying to figure out why when we call:
with db_api.context_manager.writer.using(context):
secgroup_db = (
super(NsxV3Plugin, self).create_security_group(…

The rules are not populated. The db_api.context_manager.writer.using is what is
causing the problem.

As a work around we reread the object when we need to process the rules. Not
sure if anyone else has hit this
Thanks
Gary

Hello-

I wanted to test the routed provider networks of Ocata, and following the
example config:

https://docs.openstack.org/ocata/networking-guide/config-routed-networks.html

I typed in the following on my controller node:

@openstack-controller1:~# openstack network create --share
--provider-physical-network provider1 --provider-network-type vlan
--provider-segment 2016 multisegment1

and I receive this:

Error while executing command: Bad Request

Is there a log that may show what this error is referring to?

Thank you.

[openstack-dev] [neutron] security group OVO change

2017-06-15 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
The commit https://review.openstack.org/284738 has broken decomposed plugins
(those that extend security groups and rules). The reason for this is that
there is a extend callback that we use which expects to get a database object
and the aforementioned patch passes a new neutron object.
I have posted [i] to temporarily address the issue. An alternative is to revert
the patch until the decomposed plugins can figure out how to correctly address
this.
Thanks

[openstack-dev] [neutron] pep8 breakage

2017-06-07 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
Please see bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1696403. Seems like six
1.10.0 has broken us.
I have posted a patch in the requirements project. Not 100% sure that this is
the right way to go. At least that will enable us to address this in neutron.

Re: [openstack-dev] [neutron] pep8 broken

2017-06-07 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
More details:

The urllib<https://docs.python.org/2/library/urllib.html#module-urllib>,
urllib2<https://docs.python.org/2/library/urllib2.html#module-urllib2>, and
urlparse<https://docs.python.org/2/library/urlparse.html#module-urlparse>
modules have been combined in the
urllib<https://docs.python.org/3/library/urllib.html#module-urllib> package in
Python 3. The six.moves.urllib package is a version-independent location for
this functionality; its structure mimics the structure of the Python 3
urllib<https://docs.python.org/3/library/urllib.html#module-urllib> package.

Thanks and sorry for the spam

I assume you mean the openstack/vmware-nsxlib repository? I see a
proposed update to it as of 04:40 UTC today:

https://review.openstack.org/470566

If you're talking about the actual openstack/vmware-nsx (not ...lib)
repository, it's not listed in the projects.txt file in
openstack/requirements:

http://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/requirements/tree/projects.txt

Looks like it was removed a few months ago:

Re: [openstack-dev] [Openstack][Neutron]Why we use secuirity group which only support dispatching whiltelist rules?

2017-04-25 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
I would like us to think of considering enabling an API that would allow
‘deny’, for example an admin could overwrite a tenant’s security groups. For
example, and admin may not want a specific source range to access the tenants
VM’s. The guys working on FWaaS say that this may happen in V2, but that looks
very far away. Making this change in Neutron would be pretty simple and give us
a nice feature add.
If you would like to work on this I would be happy to develop this with you. It
could be added an extension.
Thanks
Gary

Howdy folks.

What's the protocol when a change set has more than one (significant)
contributor? I've seen this "Co-Authored-By" tag in commit messages -
under what circumstances is it necessary/appropriate to use that? What
official or procedural significance does it have, if any?

Is it possible to change the owner of a change set (e.g. if someone else
has become the primary contributor, or if the original owner has left
the project)? Is that recommended?

Is there any other process or metadata that applies to this topic?

Thanks,

This errors does not mean that foreign key usage is broken. This means that
there is a mess with transactions. As you paste small piece of trace it is hard

And probably you need to revisit your unit tests.

Please, send me email directly with links for traces, does this happen on
master branch, does it happen on one of your changes - it is hard to guess.

Re: [openstack-dev] [neutron] Engine facade

2017-04-03 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
We needed to make all of those changes to just get the plugin to pass unit
tests and CI. We are still seeing lots of issues and need to look deeper. The
façade changes have caused a lot of instability issues. I am not 100% sure why.
Issues that we have seen:
1. object creation under a transaction broke
2. deleting DB entries under transaction also broke
Thanks
Gary

Hi!

I'm a little confused change https://review.openstack.org/#/c/452539/ is about
switching for new facade, does the master branch fails the same?

Hi,
How does "tag" gets assigned to openvswitch port ?
Port "tap319bae97-0b"
tag: 1
Interface "tap319bae97-0b"

It is done by openvswitch-agent, but can someone point me to the details? Is
this has anything to do with network (segment-id) or is it just local to
openvswitch ?

Hi,
You will need to set your switches to promiscuous mode. This is due to the fact
that the traffic will be using MAC addresses from OpenStack and not the VMware

Subject: [Openstack] running control plane on a vmware VM

Hi all,

I deployed openstack on a vmware vm using kolla-ansible. The installation was
successful but my router namespace cannot ping the internet and I don’t know
why.

I checked with the openstack IRC channel and my guess is that vmware is
blocking the traffic from the quantum gateway but I don’t know how to prove
this.

Am I doing something stupid by running the control plane on a vmware vm? Has
anyone done this before? How can I troubleshoot deeper so I can prove my theory?

Thank you very much

[openstack-dev] [neutron][networking-l2gw] Project update

2017-03-28 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
Please see below for a current update on the status of the project.

1. stable/ocata:

a. a tag 10.0.0 has been created

b. code has been updated to pass unit tests (there was a breakage as it
was pulling master neutron)

2. master:

a. Due to the tag above being created we created a dummy tag to ensure
that later versions will be used

b. Thanks to xuqihou for kicking the wheels for the log translations
(https://review.openstack.org/#/c/447949/)

c. There are a few other patches that need some review cycles
(https://review.openstack.org/#/q/project:openstack/networking-l2gw)
Thanks

The ACL for that repo doesn't seem to be configured to allow it
(yet):

http://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack-infra/project-config/tree/gerrit/acls/openstack/networking-l2gw.config

The Infra Manual section documenting that permission is:

After looking at the zuul debug.log, it appears to be because 439565 [1]
had an
incorrect Depends-On header, it created a dependency cycle on itself.

I had to rebase and recheck 388157, but it is working now.

The stable branch for Ocata is being cut in [1]. Everything else that targets
Pike is a go.

[openstack-dev] [neutron][infra] Any idea why patch is not gating

2017-03-06 Thread Gary Kotton
Hi,
When we recheck https://review.openstack.org/#/c/388157/ or any patch that
depends on this one, they just hang. Any idea why?
Thanks

Re: [openstack-dev] [neutron][sfc] stable/ocata version

2017-03-04 Thread Gary Kotton
Please note that things are going to start to get messy now – there are changes
in neutron that break master and these will affect the cutting of the stable
version. One example is https://review.openstack.org/441654

So I suggest cutting a stable ASAP and then cherrypicking patches
