[openstack-dev] FW: [cinder] [third-party] ProphetStor CI account

2015-09-13 Thread Rick Chen
HI Mike:

Thanks Ramy help us to build up our CI environment, now is ready for
the Cinder third-part CI testing.

Can you re-enable "prophetstor-ci" gerrit account to join the Cinder
review testing?

If our CI system has any missed condition or requirement for Cinder
CI testing, please let me know.

Many thanks.

Rick

HI Rick,

Let's keep this on the list so that others can benefit or chip in ideas.

If you cannot subscribe to the list, ask the folks on freenode irc in
#openstack-infra.

You should set in zuul.conf the [merger] zuul_url to your local zuul's url.
[1]

E.g.

[merger]

zuul_url=http://your_ip_or fqdn/p/

Please use export GIT_BASE=https://git.openstack.org. This will reduce the
load on OpenStack's gerrit server and point you to a more stable GIT farm
that can better handle the CI load. This will help your CI's success rate
(by avoiding timeouts and intermittent errors) and reduce your ci test setup
time.

Hi Ramy:

Can you provide detail information how to solve it?

Yes, I use zuul. My zuul.conf use default zuul_url value.

I thought I use build shell script to pull this patch. I had add
export GIT_BASE=https://review.openstack.org/p; in the build shell script.

Does it wrong?

Hi Rick,

Thank you for adding this: Triggered by:
https://review.openstack.org/203895 patchset 3

Where do you pull down this patch in the log files?

Normally it gets pulled down during the setup-workspace script, but here
you're referencing openstack's servers which is not correct. [1]

Are you using zuul? If so, your zuul url should be there.

If not, there should be some other place in your scripts that pull down the
patch.

Hi Rick,

Huge improvement. Log server is looking great! Thanks!

Next question is what (cinder) patch set is that job running?

It seems to be cinder master [1].

Is that intended? That's fine to validate general functionality, but
eventually it needs to run the actual cinder patch set under test.

It's helpful to include a link to the patch that invoked the job at the top
of the console.log file

HI Rick,

Let's keep this on the list so that others can benefit or chip in ideas.

If you cannot subscribe to the list, ask the folks on freenode irc in
#openstack-infra.

You should set in zuul.conf the [merger] zuul_url to your local zuul's url.
[1]

E.g.

[merger]

zuul_url=http://your_ip_or fqdn/p/

If not, there should be some other place in your scripts that pull down the
patch.

this ran was on July 28th according to the last modified dates. This should
be actively running even if you account is disabled from leaving comments,

In addition, see Ramy's comments with issues with the CI [2].

Rick,

I looked at your CI results directory [1], but it looks like the last time
this ran was on July 28th according to the last modified dates. This should
be actively running even if you account is disabled from leaving comments,
so I can verify from the logs things are running fine again.

In addition, see Ramy's comments with issues with the CI [2].

Hi Rick,

This is the second time [1] I raised a problem with the Prophetstor CI. You
said you would then fix things [2], but my email went unaswered [3].

I will fix it is not going to cut it this time. I want actual answers on
how you're fixing this so we can stop this dance. Also what are you doing
for monitoring, instead of me having to notify you?

Has someone met this too?

Any suggestion or clue will be appreciated.

Great, thanks Rick. Linking the blueprint really helps.

We are working on getting me permissions to create accounts, which is soon
but hasn't happened yet. In the meantime one of my infra colleagues may get
the account created before I do.

Thanks,
Anita.

 Hi Rick:

We are changing our documentation around requesting a service account,
the patch hasn't been merged yet:
 https://review.openstack.org/#/c/101013/11/doc/source/third_party.rst

So Prophetstor is the name of your company, what details can you give
me about what you intend to be verifying with your third party ci account?
It might be a piece of software or hardware or something else.
The more details you can offer, the better. If you have a blueprint or
spec for it, linking to the blueprint or spec in your reply is really
helpful.

 Thanks Rick,
 Anita.
