[Openstack] Error when installing RDO

2016-03-03 Thread Wilson Kwok
Hello all,

I am teaching RDO with 10 students, when they start to installing RDO, half
student can't finish installation, after re-run the RDO can finish.

I was tested in VMware Workstation 11.0 with this problem, I was thinking
may be VMware Workstation or physical servers problem, so I changed to
use ravellosystems to install RDO, but also half students can't install RDO.

Hello,

I used RDO to installed single node. I can access
http://private_ip/dashboard in local LAN, when I access
http://public_ip/dashboard that not allowed, remember I can access
http://public_ip that can see the Apache testing page.

I have checked local_settings file > ALLOWED_HOSTS = ['*', ] , what I can
do now?

2015-05-26 Thread Wilson Kwok
Hi Yair,

I just tried something:

1. I created Peter account and added into Demo project, I can access
Peter's VM from external network PC via floating IP.
2. Admin account router account floating IP is 172.28.0.163, I can ping it,
but I can't access Admin's VM floating IP 172.128.0.164 from external
network PC (Securty Group allow ICMP and SSH)
3. Demo account with no problem.

I created public network with keystone admin, please see below result with
neutron net-show public:

[Openstack] Confusion of external network

2015-05-23 Thread Wilson Kwok
Hello all,

I have completed my Openstack via this RDO guideline:
http://community.redhat.com/blog/2015/01/rdo-quickstart-doing-the-neutron-dance/

This guideline help to fix external network that can let my home network
can access to instance via floating IP, but needed to use neutron command
to remove default external network and then add new external network that
subnet match my home network.

The new external network shared already, my confusion is why only demo
account of external network can access instance, but admin account cannot,
even I create anther user account with same of demo project.

Anyone have been try RDO caused this problem ?

Thanks

Now the source file is:

export OS_USERNAME=admin
export OS_PASSWORD=adminpass
export OS_AUTH_URL=http://172.28.0.113:5000/v2.0/

Re: [Openstack] How to ping instance IP ?

2015-05-05 Thread Wilson Kwok
Hello,

I forgot to tell everyone this lab is using icehouse, I have TP-Link router
public IP address is 119.101.54.x, lan IP address is 172.28.0.1, floating
IP range already enable on instance, so below is new simply home lab
diagram:

TP-link router = public IP address 119.101.54.x and lan IP address
172.28.0.1

Home computer = 172.28.0.130

Ubuntu eth0 (no IP address) and eth1 172.28.0.105 (for managmeent)

br100 IP address = 10.0.47.1 map to eth0

instance01 IP address = 10.0.47.2

I don't understand what's "which interface/bridge your neutron router is
attached to"

When I type "neutron router-list" have following error:

Cloud not find Service or Region in Service Catalog.

and my lab do not have 172.24.0.0 subnet, please help.

[Openstack] How to route to instance from external router

2015-05-04 Thread Wilson Kwok
Hello all,

I'm testing Openstack at home, I already success create instance
with private IP adddress and floating IP address, but I have question how
to let external user access to instance, and intance access to internet,
the following description is my network settings:

1. My home network is 172.28.0.0/16 and router gateway is 172.28.0.254
2. Private network for instance is 10.0.47.0/24
3. Bridge interface named br100 with eth0 is 172.28.0.1

1. My concept is add static route (destination 10.0.47.0/24 via 172.28.0.1
Bridge interface IP) and port forward in router, let user can reach
instance.

2. Because instance private IP address assigned by dnsmasq, so I think use
the following nova-network command can access to internet:

nova-manage network create private --fixed_range_v4=10.0.47.0/24
--num_networks=1
--bridge=br100 --bridge_interface=eth0 --network_size=255

Please give me idea, thanks.
