[Openstack] [OpenStack]SRIOV VLAN Trunk Support
Hi, Background: I am using 82599 SR-IOV function, and attach the VF (by OpenStack) to the VM. I want to send and receive VLAN tagged and untagged traffic inside VM, just like the VLAN trunk port on the switch. My question are: Does SR-IOV support VLAN trunk? If yes, what kind of configuration shall I do for PF and VF (VM)? Does OpenStack support SR-IOV VF vlan trunk? If yes, what kind of configuration is needed? I try to search in the Internet, does it need somehow configure `Packet Filtering and Replication` in PF and tag/untag VLAN inside VM? Currently I set up a SRIOV provider network, create a neutron network on top of that. And then create port on this network and attach this port to VM. For this, I see inside VM, there is a VLAN ID for this port (VF) by default, which is the provider VLAN ID. [Openstack] Subnet Order for Neutron Port
Hi, If one neutron port is attached to two subnets (maybe one IPv4 subnet and one IPv6 subnet), in this case, what is the order of these two subnets, random or some rules inside? Reason is when I want to get some attribute for the port, I found the order varies in terms of different platforms. Like: {get_attr: [port, subnets, 1, cidr]} Best Regards Xu Rongjie (Max) ___ Mailing list: http://lists.openstack.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openstack Post to : openstack@lists.openstack.org Unsubscribe : http://lists.openstack.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openstack
[Openstack] [OpenStack][Nova] NUMA Topology together with requested PCI devices Schedule Failed
Hi, I want to know whether SRIOV VF can be used cross socket (e.g PF is on socket 0, so its VFs also on socket 0, and VM is on socket 1). My testing is to launch several VMs with dedicated vCPU with VF. Firstly, I saw VMs are located on socket 0. When the CPUs on socket 0 are used up, I expect VM can be scheduled to socket 1 or some error happens. In indeed, I got following errors: Insufficient compute resources: Requested instance NUMA topology together with requested PCI devices cannot fit the g", "code": 500, "details": " File \"/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/nova/conductor/manager.py\", line 393, in build_instances But what I cannot understand is what does "NUMA topology" indicate here? How it is related to NUMA topology? Can anybody help explain? [Openstack] [OpenStack] vlan_transparent configuration
Hi, I want to use vlan_transparent feature of neutron. What shall I do to enable this feature? Here is what I currently have done: enable following option on both controller and compute and restart neutron related services. /etc/neutron/neutron.conf vlan_transparent = True With this configuration, I launched two VMs attached to one L2 tenant network with vlan_transparent enabled. I set up vlan on VM port manually and try to ping each other. But it does not work as ARP packets are dropped inside OVS. Per my understanding, I shall miss something of configuration so OVS ARP flows are not added automatically. [Openstack] [OpenStack] VM Disk Quota
Hi I want to limit VM IOPS. Currently I am using "quota:disk_total_iops_sec" in Flavor. My question is: Does it set the IOPS limitation just for root disk? What if I have a cinder volume attached to the VM? Thanks. So based on this, as long as one of dhcp agents is Active, DHCP should be working. [Openstack] [OpenStack] VM start up with no route rules
Hi, I am launch a heat stack on top of Mirantis OpenStack Mitaka. However, I see no route rules (output of command 'ip route' is empty) inside VM, which make the VM cannot get the metadata from metadata server. Basically, the VM is connected to a management network (192.168.1.0/24 DHCP enabled). How can I debug this problem? Is it something wrong with Neutron? Thanks.
