Thanks Kevin for reply.
But 'host' attribute returns me the controller hostname and not compute
host name. I am having multi node setup, and I want to know compute host
where the VM get launch.

[openstack-dev] [tempest] request to review bug 1321617

2014-11-19 Thread Harshada Kakad
Hi All,

Could someone please, review the bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/tempest/+bug/1321617

Test case related to quota usage (test_show_quota_usage,
test_cinder_quota_defaults and test_cinder_quota_show)
uses tenant name, ideally it should use tenant id as quota
requires UUID of tenant and not tenant name.

Cinder quota-show ideally requires tenant_id to show quota.
As there is bug in cinder (BUG: 1307475) , that if we give
non-existent tenant_id still cinder show the quota and
returns 200 (OK). Hence, these testcases should use
tenant_id and not tenant_name.

If your patch relies on a not approved feature of a client, and we'd do
a full integration testing with Horizon, your patch would fail, because
the underlying client does not have the required feature.

 Does that make sense?

[openstack-dev] [cinder] cinder not support quota for user

2014-04-25 Thread Harshada Kakad
Hi Everyone,

I see most of the project allows quota for tenant as well as user.
Here is example of nova supporting quota for both tenant and user.

ubuntu@harshada-dev:~/harshada/temp/cinder$ nova help quota-show
usage: nova quota-show [--tenant tenant-id] [--user user-id]

List the quotas for a tenant/user.

Optional arguments:
--tenant tenant-id ID of tenant to list the quotas for.
--user user-id ID of user to list the quotas for.

But cinder allows quota for just tenant only. Why is it so designed, I am
actually not aware about it.
Ideally it show also allow quota for user. Could any one let me know why is
it so designed only for tenant and not for user?

ubuntu@harshada-dev:~/harshada/temp/cinder$ cinder help quota-show
usage: cinder quota-show tenant_id

List the quotas for a tenant.

Positional arguments:
tenant_id UUID of tenant to list the quotas for.
