[openstack-dev] [fuel] Fuel meeting participation.

2015-03-16 Thread Andrew Woodward
The last couple of meetings have been visibly low on participation. Most
notably anyone not involved with the planned schedule is not participating.
Often I find that the discussion leeds to wanting to talk with more of the
devs, but they are frequently not available.

Is there any reason for the low participation ( time / schedule )? Any one
have any thoughts as to how we can improve attendance?

Are we having these meetings every week, and if not, are we announcing
on the mailing list that they are cancelled?

If not, why not? That'll put a dent in attendance if there is doubt
around if a meeting will happen or not. I see there has been a couple
weeks where there was no meeting run.

I'm not sure about 6/11 as I was traveling during the scheduled time and
there are no minuets annotated in the agenda, but I chaired 6/18 and 6/4,
and will continue to do so going forward whenever possible.

I will start to send more regular updates / reminders on the ML about the
schedule, agenda reminders and follow up after the meetings. I hope to see
improved participation as a result.

As a reminder the agenda is at:

I think in last couple of months quality of the meetings degraded and
conversations switched to other channels. One of the reasons I find particulary
annoying is last changes to agenda, often unexpected and surprising. To fix
that we need to plan in advance. I would suggest putting things in agenda once
they come up, e.g. during other discussions, 1on1s, etc. I also think it would
be beneficial if we define purpose of this meeting.
