I'm not sure which Utopia you're living in, but it must be magical. Was
that written before or after 2008, or Brexit, or Trump...?

Reading further into your Mitaka candidacy patch there is the mention of
nova-network and migrating from that. Just looking back to the Vancouver
summit (maybe even Paris) we were grappling with how to migrate to
Neutron, or if people even wanted to migrate from nova-network at all
(remember nova-network has been deprecated twice now). We're now at a
point that nova-network is deprecated for the second time, Neutron is
the default networking service in our CI jobs on master *except* for the
wart that is cells v1, but we're handling that too. The point is,
Neutron has come a LONG way in the past year and a half and I give a lot
of credit to the persistent focused effort of you as PTL for Neutron and
the way this group works, governs itself, and has fostered other leaders
within the team. It doesn't even seem that long ago but time flies.

I'm glad you'll be staying on and I appreciate the work we've already
done together between our two projects.

We’re all doomed! DOOMED!

But seriously, thank you for all of the work you’ve put into leading
neutron for as long as you have. Your decisiveness on various issues has
allowed development to continue at pace rather than always getting bogged
down in never ending debates.

This blow is softened only by the knowledge that there are some excellent
potential candidates who are ready (and willing?) to step into the role.

Thank you, and I’m looking forward to your continued contributions.

Armando,
Sad to see you're stepping down. Thanks for your time and guidance as
neutron PTL.

[openstack-dev] [neutron] PTL nominations deadline and non-candidacy

2017-01-09 Thread Armando M.
Hi neutrinos,

The PTL nomination week is fast approaching [0], and as you might have
guessed by the subject of this email, I am not planning to run for Pike. If
I look back at [1], I would like to think that I was able to exercise the
influence on the goals I set out with my first self-nomination [2].

That said, when it comes to a dynamic project like neutron one can't never
claim to be *done done* and for this reason, I will continue to be part of
the neutron core team, and help the future PTL drive the next stage of the
project's journey.

I must admit, I don't write this email lightly, however I feel that it is
now the right moment for me to step down, and give someone else the
opportunity to grow in the amazing role of neutron PTL! I have certainly
loved every minute of it!

Cheers,
Armando
