Re: [openstack-dev] GUI for Swift object storage

2018-09-18 Thread Tim Burke
Hate to nitpick, but Cyberduck is licensed GPLv3 -- you can browse the source
(and confirm the license) at https://trac.cyberduck.io/browser/trunk
 and https://trac.cyberduck.io/
indicates the source is available via git or svn.
They do nag you to donate, though.

Swift explorer is Apache 2, available at
https://github.com/roikku/swift-explorer
. I don't know anything about
Gladinet.

Re: [openstack-dev] GUI for Swift object storage

2018-09-18 Thread Clay Gerrard
I don't know about a good open source cross-platform GUI client, but the
SwiftStack one is slick and doesn't seem to be behind a paywall (yet?)

https://www.swiftstack.com/downloads

There's probably some proprietary integration that won't make sense - but
it should work with any Swift end-point. Let me know how it goes!

-Clay

N.B. IANAL, so you should probably double check the license/terms if you're
planning on doing anything more sophisticated than personal use.

All GUI tools are non open source...need to pay like cyberduck etc.
Looking for open source GUI for Swift API access.

2018-09-17 Thread John Dickinson

That's a great question.

A quick google search shows a few like Swift Explorer, Cyberduck, and
Gladinet. But since Swift supports the S3 API (check with your cluster
operator to see if this is enabled, or examine the results of a `GET
/info` request), you can use any available S3 GUI client as well (as
long as you can configure the endpoints you connect to).
