Re: [openstack-dev] Sent the first batch of invitations to Atlanta's Summit

2014-02-24 Thread Collins, Sean
Make sure that you also log in, or have your username and password handy before
you redeem it.

If you click a link to send a password reset, you'll lose your session, and the
invite code is a one-time use – I had to dig through my history to get the URL
back, since the back button did not work correctly.

Unfortunately the site is managed by eventbrite and we have little
control over their UX choices.

Since we know it's quite easy to miss the spot to redeem the invitation
code, we include a screenshot in the invitation email: there is an arrow
there, showing where to click to enter the discount code. If you have
other ideas on how to make the process more obvious let us know.

Cheers,
Stef

Yes, as usual subsequent batches will be sent to catch late Icehouse
contributors. We usually stop looking just after the -3 milestone.

I just noticed the subject of this email referred to the "first batch" of
invitations -- are there going to be subsequent batches of invites? If so,
who was not included in the first batch that will be in subsequent batches?

Something tells me that this date is not correct? :)

I found it completely non-obvious too, and had to go back and look for
the link. If the promotion code text box was always visible with the
Apply button grayed out when the text box is empty, I think that would help.

How do you put the code in? It's asking for a credit card no matter what I do..

[openstack-dev] Sent the first batch of invitations to Atlanta's Summit

2014-01-28 Thread Stefano Maffulli
A few minutes ago we sent the first batch of invites to people who
contributed to any of the official OpenStack programs[1] from 00:00 UTC
on April 4, 2014 (Grizzly release day) until present.

We'll send more invites *after each milestone* from now on and until
feature freeze (March 6th, according to release schedule[2])

IMPORTANT CHANGE

Contrary to previous times, the code is a *$600 discount*. If you don't
use it before March 22, when registration prices will increase, *you
will be charged*.

 Use it! Now!

And apply for the Travel Support Program if you need to:

Cheers,
