/me is more than a little redfaced now.

While all of the prose above is correct, the table does not reflect
the extended dates (although we'd be delighted to have nominations well in
advance of the dates listed). The updated delayed-two-days dates are:

Events Start Date End Date
TC nominationSep 29, 2017 23:59 UTC Oct 10, 2017, 23:45 UTC
TC Campaigning Oct 11, 2017 23:59 UTC Oct 14, 2017, 23:45 UTC
TC Election Oct 14, 2017 23:59 UTC Oct 20, 2017, 23:45 UTC

Apologies for the confusion. For those in doubt in the future, the
correct current agreed dates are also available from git(1).

Because of the delay in getting information published the election
officials have decided to extend the nomination period by 2 days, this
has a knock on effect that each deadline is now also bumped:

Events Start Date End Date
TC nomination Sep 29, 2017 23:59 UTC Oct 08, 2017 23:45 UTC
TC Campaigning Oct 09, 2017 23:59 UTC Oct 12, 2017 23:45 UTC
TC Election Oct 12, 2017 23:59 UTC Oct 18, 2017 23:45 UTC

We are electing 6 TC members. Any individual member of the foundation
can propose their candidacy (except the last TC members who were elected
at the previous election)[1].

Yours Tony.

Re: [openstack-dev] [all][elections] Candidate proposals for TC (Technical Committee) positions are now open

2017-10-01 Thread Kendall Nelson
Hello Again,

A few corrections from the kickoff email:

Candidates for the Technical Committee Positions: Any Foundation individual
member can propose their candidacy for an available, directly-elected TC
seat. (except the seven (7) TC members who were elected for a one-year seat
in April[3]).

The election will be held from September 29th through to 23:45 October 18th,
2017 UTC. PLEASE NOTE, we are discussing adding a few days to the
nomination period thereby shortening the campaigning period due to the
lack of updates to the governance page and the delayed kickoff email.
Please keep an eye out for updates!

Yeah, I think there was confusion between election closing time (April
20) and nomination deadline (April 9). The election website has the
reference dates (it's currently down, but should be fixed soon):

TC nomination starts @ 2017-03-30, 23:59 UTC
TC nomination ends @ 2017-04-09, 23:45 UTC
TC elections starts@ 2017-04-13, 23:59 UTC
TC elections ends @ 2017-04-20, 23:45 UTC

That's correct if you consider the "election" to include nomination,
campaigning and voting. But then in other places "election" is
synonymous to "voting", hence the confusion. Again, the timeline has the
right information.

Re: [openstack-dev] [all][elections] Candidate proposals for TC (Technical Committee) positions are now open

2016-09-29 Thread Davanum Srinivas
Folks,

3 incumbents are not running. Many thanks to Russell, Anne, Kyle for
their service and dedication (per TC meeting logs -
http://eavesdrop.openstack.org/meetings/tc/2016/tc.2016-09-27-20.01.log.html)

9 candidates are running (per
https://review.openstack.org/#/q/project:openstack/election).

Now's a good time to help shape the future of OpenStack. Please
consider stepping up to be a candidate for the TC!

Thanks,
Dims
