Hi Chris,

The process of setting up and contributing is detailed in the
following document [1]. But it seems you want to propose a new
project, in this have a look at [2].

If you experience similar issues as before, please write a detailed
description of the issue you are having and post it to one of the
mailinglists [3]. Although it should be addressed to infra, you can
likely get an answer from the general mailinglist [4]. Issues like a
500 should not occur, and indicate an issue with the web application
that was missed or an edge case. Meaningful errors are of course
preferred.

But back to you project. It would be wise to discuss it on the
developer mailinglist [5] and do a call for participation. Put your
code somewhere more visible and accessible, such as Github. Most
people want to quickly browse the code before downloading a tarball.
We favor collaboration in an early stage.

Hope this is helpful.

Gerard

Ok.
This brings us back to Bad programming practice number 42
"Error Propagation".

Error 500 Tells the user NOTHING. ;)

And pay close attention to the second paragraph of the account setup
section of that document in particular, as the steps covered there
(creating a foundation member account and making sure your Gerrit
preferred E-mail address and foundation profile primary E-mail
address match) are the most common reasons for the error you're
reporting. Also check out https://ask.openstack.org/question/56720

Hi Chris,

Please following this guide for setup Gerrit:
http://docs.openstack.org/infra/manual/developers.html

You must use git-review, need SSH key config in gerrit and make sure your
connection (proxy..) do not drop SSH access to external.

Cheers.

Subject: [Openstack-operators] Attempting to contribute code

Hello all;
I have been attempting to set up access to the Gerrit / Git sandbox and submit
code that I had offered to the group about a month or so ago.
Off and on for the past month, I have attempted to agree to the Contributor
License Agreement in order to get a space in Git. For the past month,
whenever I hit Submit, I get an error 500.
What gives? :-)Is there something else I can do? Maybe the back end
doesn't like Firefox?
Here's the URLhttps://review.openstack.org/#/settings/new-agreement
Let me know what to do. I'd like to get this code in for review by the group.
URL to my site with code. http://chrishull.com/career/openstack/index.html
Let me know.
Thanks;
-Chris
