Sophos is a commercial product and it's not integrated with SUSE.
KMail gives you the opportunity to use it if you have it. You can find
more details about Sophos Antivirus at http://www.sophos.com/

Probably because the spam-bots are searching the mailing-list and they
are searching on Google too. I don't think you would like to get a lot
of spam in your Inbox just because you are subscribed to a
mailing-list. Personaly I think it's better not to let robots indexing

There is no OSS LiveDVD. Try this one. The Eval contains some non-OSS

Congratulations :-)

I used a download manager to download from many of the mirrors at once. I
checked the MD5s against the ones in the MD5SUMS file from one of the
mirrors and they all matched, but they didn't match during the check at the
beginning of the installation. I tried to install with them anyway, but I
got a lot of read errors.

Try to use some better media. I burned the CDs with both Nero and K3B
using LG DVD-RAM 4163B and Asus I-don't-remember-the-model on LG and
Traxdata media and I don't have any problems. I also made DVDs from
CDs and no problem again.

To summarize the rest of my efforts... I tried downloading all from one
mirror... I tried downloading all from a different mirror... I tried
downloading and burning on another computer... I tried downloading and
burning at 8x... I would've tried downloading directly from
 ftp.suse.comhttp://ftp.suse.com,
but I get the message that they aren't accepting connections right now...

Yeah... that's what's happening when a new version of a distribution
like this is released... try to find a mirror.

I still haven't had any luck. I won't admit how many CDs I've thrown away :(
I know I'm not the only one with this problem... Google is my friend, but I
 still don't know a solution.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Use -RW media, and if everything it's working write them on -R media.

 Thank you,
 Vince

There is something strange with reiserfs. One year ago, when I tried
Gentoo reiserfs was flying in comparison with ext3. I also did some
tests on Slackware 10.0 using ext2, ext3, reiserfs, xfs and reiserfs
was the fastest one. Now I see the tests on SuSE and I want to go back
to ext3 because speed is very important for me.

Pass it to me ;)

I really think that the most of us (as mentioned above) are very good
packagers with a lot of experience with SUSE Linux - we've been doing
this for quite some time - and we should try to find some volunteers
interested in the job and grow a packager community. At least I'm
willing to help, review, coach, whatever, as I'm sure others are. I
believe that we can get some SUSE staffers to give us a hand as well.

I am not a packager (yet) but I want to help. Unfortunately I know
only the basics about creating RPM packages but if you can provide me
some sample spec files and give me some time to read something about
creating RPMs I can help you with some packages. I also need some
space where to host them, I have only 256kbps connection.
