It seems the system tries to access it first as a software raid, or even 
not raid. I saw (in the Spanish list) another report of someone having 
problems also because his systems attempts software raid, too. I don't 
know of a solution.

Hmm... I made a mistake. it's irrelevant to fsck. Maybe you should report
to bugzilla.
