Re: [opensuse] GRUB bootable cd with network support (SOLVED)

(Step 1 in the SDB article) Yes, I did, or rather I thought I did. I recompiled GRUB from the source rpm as described in the article, but the spec file looks somewhat different in my version (10.1) of Suse. In my spec file there was a "./configure" and "make", followed immediately by a "make clean", "./configure" and "make" . I added the network support to the first "./configure" command (not seeing the second one) and assumed that I now should have network support. After adding the relevant part (--enable-eepro100) to the second "./configure" it worked like a charm. [opensuse] GRUB bootable cd with network support
Hi everybody, I need to create a grub bootable cd with network support. I have so far used a combination of http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html (the Grub manual, specifically http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html#Making-a-GRUB-bootable-CD_002dROM) and http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Booting_from_the_Network_with_GRUB (an opensuse wiki explaining exactly what I want to do, with the only difference that I want to create a cd, and not a floppy). No matter what I do though, I can't seem to get network support. When I try to use Grub commands like "ifconfig" and "dhcp", I get a "Error 27: Unrecognized command" error. Any ideas what I could be missing? Thanks Marius -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
