Just got home and checked it with my Suse 10.3 X86-64. Works fine there.
Konqueror opens and asks what you want to do. Click OK to open in new
window, in a couple of seconds th files are there.

I am leaving for Hong Kong and Shanghai tomorrow morning, so won't be
able to check what you ask on the 10.2 system until I get back (It is as
work) next week.

If you start up konqueror, and click on "storage media"
what do you get?

All of a sudden, the floppy is showing up as External Floppy under my
computer. When I right click and do mount on it, it comes up with

Method "Mount" with signature "ssas" on interface
"org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" doesn't exist

There is a floppy disk in the drive with files on it that can be read by
WinXP.

Searching the internet, there are a number of emails about this on Suse
10.1 and a patch was supposedly made to fix it. I am running 32-bit Suse
10.2 of which there is no mention. Does anyone have any other
suggestions?

[opensuse] USB floppy disk

2007-12-02 Thread Art Fore
I have a MITSUMI USB FDD 061M but when I plug it in, I do not get
anything.

lsmod |grep usb results in

usb_storage94784 1
ide_core 142792 1 usb_storage
hci_usb33052 2
bluetooth 81764 7 rfcomm,l2cap,hci_usb
usbhid 64608 0
usbcore 140676 6
usb_storage,hci_usb,usbhid,uhci_hcd,ehci_hcd
scsi_mod 149000 5 usb_storage,sr_mod,sg,libata,sd_mod

If I look in Kinfocenter, under usb devices I have

UUHCI Host Controller (4)

Manufacturer: Linux 2.6.18.8-0.7-bigsmp uhci_hcd
Serial #: :00:1d.2

Speed
12 Mbit/s
Channels
2
Max. Packet Size
0

Bandwidth
0 of 900 (0%)

and under that I get

MITSUMI USB FDD 061M

Manufacturer: MITSUMI

Class

Subclass

Protocol
0
USB Version
1.10

(SmartDisk FDD)
Revision

If I look under SCSI device I see the Misume listed 8 times

Host: sccsi8 Channell: oo id: 00 Lun:00
Vendor MITSUMI Model USB FDD 061M Rev:2.00

Host: sccsi8 Channell: oo id: 00 Lun:01
Vendor MITSUMI Model USB FDD 061M Rev:2.00

Host: sccsi8 Channell: oo id: 00 Lun:02
Vendor MITSUMI Model USB FDD 061M Rev:2.00

etc wutg Lun: going up to 07.

Can someone tell me from the above information how I would mount this
beast or where else I could find the appropriate info to do so?
