Yes, it's not the officially supported version... What version of VMWare are you talking about, I think 6.0 is the first one to support it officially?? On 6/14/07, Michael Smith <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

That makes perfect sense, except when I turned it off, I got a marked performance increase don't understand it, but there it is... And I believe that ultimate can be installed in VM without violating the license agreement. ~mike No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. IIRC the licence issue is only with the low-end versions. There's no problem running universal in a VM session. As it is, I've got MSDN licenses. I'll fire up a VMWare workstation and generate a vista machine tomorrow to see how it goes. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Since Virtual machies see a virtual video card and that card does not have anywhere near enough bells and wistles to run aero, why would you have to "Turn off Aero"? It would never allow you to turn it on given the virtual adaptor. And you may have noticed, but probably don't care (nor do I) that you had to violate the Vista license in order to install it in a Virtual Machine. -- _ John Andersen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
RE: [opensuse] VMWare and Vista?
I have Vista running in VMWare on Suse 10.2 Performance is fairly good, better than XP in VM on the same box, but make sure you turn of the Aero effects - that sucks a lot of processor power. I have only just begun playing with Virtual Box, so I have no real experience with that. -Original Message- From: Alexey Eremenko [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 6:34 PM To: opensuse@opensuse.org Subject: Re: [opensuse] VMWare and Vista? [opensuse] VMWare and Vista?
Any of you have experiences with VMWare and Vista? I have a new convert here at work. One of my staff has just bought a new laptop and already ditched Vista and installed SUSE 10.2. He came by asking if I ran Vista in my VMWare session. I indicated that I'd installed XP under VMWare and that I was happy with the performance. In any case, I was wondering if any of you had installed Vista under VMWare out there? I did this on an XP box about a year ago, but that was just the beta 1 version. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
