After kernel update you might need to rebuild the fglrx-related kernel 
modules !


Check "/usr/share/doc/packages/fglrx/index.html" and related files for 
further information.

Seems you are using the ATI driver instead of the those provided in the 
SUSE kernel.  Just like nVidia, you'll need to reinstall the driver 
again.  Not knowing what card you are using, you could also just 
reconfigure with sax2 from init 3 to use the ATI driver module built-in 
to the new kernel.
