Thanks! If there is only one mmcX then it'll be the microSD card slot.
Some instructions on cubieborad.org say that the tSD/EMMC flash is
connected as an SD card too, and there was a suggestion somewhere else
not to confuse mmc0 and mmc1. So it's probably effectively a soldered-on
SD card.

I don't know how that affects the boot process. Hopefully not... Both
version are still sold on Aliexpress, but could be knock-offs, or older
stock.

If anyone has tried I'd still like to hear.

This board is at a low price for an ARM board with SATA interface and
some semi-decent I/O performance (unlike RPi), and with independent
software support. The current boards are too expensive and have no
openSUSE.

Both U-Boot and kernel dts don't distinguish such two CB2 versions.
In the kernel .dts I spotted an mmc0 node FWIW.
