Take a look at http://en.opensuse.org/KDE4 If you have 'kdebase4-session' installed then it should appear as one of the sessions in KDM/GDM as Mike has said. For 10.3 it looks like 3.5 is going to be the default, but it will ship with some KDE4 apps which are sufficiently stable (i.e. kdegames). The KDE4 session will be available, however. You should see KDE4 as an option. Right now, the two versions of KDE can sit side by side. I'm not sure if the KDE4 apps are sufficiently stable to replace KDE3 just yet, but I suspect it's getting pretty close. I recently downloaded a bunch of kde4 rpms via yast2. It took awhile and when finished I thought I would try it. Question is "how"! I have not found anything like startkde4. I already was aware of the new kde4 location other than /opt. What is the trick? The way to have numlock on by default, means that you must allways notice this. fe: A password made with numlock on is different when numlock is off. Sometimes, this is very confusing. You *allways* have to remember/be aware of the fact, that numlock is on by default ;-), and shut it off, if you use a password in the fn-number zone, or use a password without fn-numpad...
