No. The mails are on an IMAP server, see $SUBJ. The IMAP server keeps

I'm not familiar with Intel CPU's, but if Beta3 x86_64 is installed, it
must be ia64. The kernel is 64-bit and VirtualBox needs to build and
install a 32-bit module (vboxdrv) and that's not compatible. The
VirtualBox site says that they don't expect to do 64-bit anytime soon,
so we are out of luck there. I also looked at VMware, same problem.
So KVM is the only option that supports both 32-bit and 64-bit VM's. Not
sure about Xen.

As far as I know, this is exactly what should happen in this case.
sata driver only supports up to 15 partition, so the only way to use
more is use plain old IDE driver.

Acording to bugzilla bug #218122, comments #18 and #19, it should be using
the device mapper now. :-?

Plus, as already reported, if I use the plain old ide driver, as
instructed by the pop up message (hwprobe=-modules.pata), then I bump
into bug #305095: CD-Installation fails when partitions 15 are involved

Ie, the installation program keeps asking for CD1, which does not exist as
I'm using DVD install.

This is what is reported in #309070. I can agree I wrote a duplicate bug,
but not an invalid one.

 Hi,there,
 I used the openSuse10.3 beta3 in the x86_64 machine.CPU is Intel
 Pentium 4 3.80GHz HT.

This cpu, is really 64 bits?

I mean that the P4 HT is only 32 bits.
It must be P4 EMT64 (or core duo), or Athlon64, or Opteron to run x86-64.

While I don't see where it misses a Fortran 77 compiler, I can tell you
about the GNU Fortran compiler:

Up to GCC 3.3.x, GCC shipped g77 which was a Fortran 77 compiler with
some vendor extensions.

Since GCC 4.0.0, GCC contains gfortran which is a Fortran 95 compiler
with some 2003 support and vendor extensions.

Any standard-conform Fortran 77 is also a valid Fortran 90/95 program
(ignoring some deleted features any F95 compiler still supports);
additionally, gfortran tries to support all g77 extensions.

As gfortran is rather mature, openSUSE does not contain g77 anymore; if
you really want to use g77, you can install the compat-g77 package of
openSUSE 10.2.

 What for?

Actually, it is a new disk, less than a year old. But PATA, of course.

The disk can be pata, but if the hard disk controller has 6 years old
(tending to obsolete), I mean it is ide type, then the conflict betwen
ide/pata.

Notice that new disks are bigger than old disks, and will possibly have
more partitions. Some people have reported using more than 40 partitions,
and I understand they are using SATA in emulated PATA mode precisely
because they use lots of partitions.

In my computer, it has 4 modes:
2 for raid mode.
1 ide native emulation
1 ahci

If I set it to ide native, the systems ignores it and asumes ahci.

I can access the cdrom if I mount it manually and search its contents. It
is Yast who says it can't. There is no need to insmod anything.

  What chipset has Your mobo?

I don't remember. The mobo is MSI circa 2001. That's not related, I'm not
the only one having the exact same problem, according to bugzilla. Check
 #218122 and #305095, for instance.

Its related the chipset, because it can be a buggy version, or it can
be obsolete, and is no more supported (as You said circa 2001).

No, it is not. The developers reading the bugzilla report determined it
is a libzypp problem.

It is not a hardware problem, as 10.2 works perfectly, and several people
reported the same problem. I can mount manually any of the partitions or
the dvd from inside the installer, so the hardware is supported.

It is a software problem introduced by modifications in the kernel.
