It is a Software Management bug.

There was installed libkde4-32bit and that is the one in 'another version of
that package is already installed' message. Marking manually libkde4-32bit
for removal solved problem.

Though, looking for solution I think that I stumbled over one bug old as Troy.

In first attempt I just locked libkde4 to prevent removal, and dependency
problem disappeared, so I installed what was possible to install and then
came back to unlock libkde4, but lock disappeared.

Locking package was not persisten in the same sw_single session.

In the last few weeks some packages on Factory are missing. Just checking,

missing.
I opened a bug report on it.

the package was renamed (and even correctly provides the old package name)
the new name is libgnomebt-devel

Thanks, all sorted now.

If the problem also exists for x86 I would add a comment to the bug...
and since now the problem is clearer I would also edit the title.

[opensuse-factory] Why is java 1.5 required by OpenOffice?

2007-11-11 Thread Felix Möller
Hi,

I am running latest factory but have to carry two Java runtimes with me
as Eclipse requires Java 1.6. and OpenOffice thinks it needs Java 1.5 ...
# rpm -q --requires OpenOffice_org | grep jre
jre-32

... This is only provided by 1.5 java ...
# rpm -q --provides java-1_5_0-sun-1.5.0_update13-7 | grep jre
jre-1.5.0-sun = 1.5.0_update13-7
jre-sun = 1.5.0_update13-7
jre-1.5.0
jre = 1.5.0
jre1.1.x
jre1.2.x
jre1.3.x
jre1.4.x
jre1.5.x
jre-1.5.0-sun-32 = 1.5.0_update13-7
jre-sun-32 = 1.5.0_update13-7
jre-1.5.0-32
jre-32 = 1.5.0
java2-jre = 1.5.0_update13-7

... and not by 1.6 java ...
# rpm -q --provides java-1_6_0-sun-1.6.0.u3-8 | grep jre
jre-1.6.0.u3.sr2-sun = 1.6.0.u3-8
jre-sun = 1.6.0.u3-8
jre-1.6.0.u3.sr2
jre = 1.6.0.u3.sr2
jre1.1.x
jre1.2.x
jre1.3.x
jre1.4.x
jre1.5.x
jre1.6.x
java2-jre = 1.6.0

So is this a bug? And should OpenOffice require something different or
should java 1.6 provide jre-32

greetings

investigating morer, I see that lacks also "dv1394" and this makes
